I've been asking myself recently why I decided to teach teenagers. Especially after yesterday. I would prefer if they waited until after class to have enthusiastic conversations about prom.

I'm not gonna lie the first time I read this I thought it said porn. But prom isn't so bad. I mean it's a big deal isn't it? They're just excited.

I suppose here and back home, but the student in question is from Japan and I guess she didn't know about it. The student who had asked her if she was going seemed completely shocked that she did't know about it.

Oh well you can't blame them for wanting to tell their fellow students about it. Maybe just a little request to save it for break.

It might not have been quite so bad had another student, who had a tendency to sleep in my class, thrown something then.

Oh? What did they throw in?

A sheet of paper or something. I know, it doesn't seem like much, but it's the principle of the thing.

I don't know whether to laugh or just show up with tea on Monday for you.

I wasn't expecting any of my students to be on here. She's not in trouble, Mr. Saotome.

I'll have to be more careful what I say from now on. It's alright, Miss. Tendo.

Hah! Not sore at all I decided to stick to university instruction. But, you've got all those mostly impressionable minds, Rory Williams! Is it that taxing?

Teaching University must be nice. And not usually.

[John]
It's mostly only the classes I have with two students in particular.

They're here from Japan. One tends to sleep through my class and the other inadvertently made a bit of a scene in class today when another student asked her about prom and she didn't know what it was and the conversation got fairly loud.

Oh! Think I spoke to the fellow! Doesn't speak much English at all, might be part of the problem. Unfortunate, that. I can have a chat at him for you if you like!

You're a glutton for extreme punishment.

Or maybe just bitter your didn't go to your own prom. :P

Not bitter at all. I simply wasn't expecting anyone to have any outbursts about prom in class.

Teenagers are not known for their strict control.

No, I don't think they are. Although, I thought I had more control when I was their age.

It's the only time in your life where you can be out of control and kind of get away with it.

I suppose so, but if they're going to talk, I'd prefer they pass notes. Something I'm sure no teacher has ever said before.
