As someone who was diagnosed with adhd as a child and is currently in medschool, you would think I would remember that simulants have the opposite effect on me than they do most people. And yet here I am, waking up after falling asleep from drinking the coffee I made to help me study for exams.

Three weeks in and I am glad I made the jump to a new firm.

Also, my kid is about to graduate kindergarten. How did that happen?

I took Livvy to see the Easter Bunny at the mall today and it didn't go well. She seemed so excited to go up until it was her turn.

So a while back, I had a dream where I met a girl at the bus stop. She was headed to California. Ran into her again, in Chicago. Something about it didn't sit right, and it turns out she is a scorcerer. She'd called up some shadow demons, called Daēvas. She caught me and Dean, but we were really just bait, she was fishing for our dad.

We finally saw him, reunioned with him for a hot minute. The Daēvas attacked, but we got away from them. And then parted ways with Dad. He's on a revenge mission to kill the demon that killed my mom, but you know. Has no idea how to actually kill a demon. Insists he has to do it alone, for now.

It's a lot to process. But in other news. I'm starting a new job with a new firm in a week and a half. So there's that too.

So I'm officially my uncle's problem now. Good news for me. Bad news for him.

Mom must have gotten notice about it or something cause she tried calling. Is it wrong to not want to talk to your mom?

And now I'm getting kidnapped in the dreams. At least I didn't have another one of those premonitions, or the headaches that go with them. We thought we were working a supernatural case, turned out it was just a family of sadistic bastards who liked to kidnap people, and then make then run so they could hunt them. Thankfully Dean showed up with a cop, and we managed to kill outsmart them. But yeah, I think I prefer wendigos, demons, and idiots trying to control reapers over this.

Took long enough to finish that dream.

Went to this town to investigate the disappearance of those two. No one knows anythng except this girl. They tell me where to go and said the couple left town. Weren't there more than ten minutes. Spoiler alert? LIE. I was following the path they said they took when the EMF reader started freaking the hell out. And it led me to this fugly looking scarescrow. That had the same tattoo as the person that went missing.

C'mon. Coincidence?

I tried to help this couple who were going to be the next targets and wound up putting them off and getting escorted by the shady cops out of town. Score one for me who saved the couple. Nothing this time for the creepy Pagan god possessing the even creepier statue. A Vanir according to local professor.

Aww, Sam. We had quite the bro chat. You still left to find dad though. But you did come back to save my ass. So uh, thanks for not letting me be a fertility sacrifice to leatherface.

Has anyone watched that Crime Scene series on Netflix? The one about the Cecil Hotel? Watched it the other night with Eliot and Margo and it is so bloody fucking creepy! There is so much about that case that just doesn't make sense. Yes, it makes sense in the long run, but it still doesn't make sense. I still have so many questions

It absolutely makes sense that it was one of the inspirations for the Hotel season of American Horror Story.

I'm seriously considering taking a leave of absence from my work. With these dreams and everything, and Jesse getting older, I feel like work is suffering. Maybe it's time to consider a change of career.

Well... that dream was a bit of a doozy. Dream!Me rose from the dead, took her axe and killed three of her enemies. THEN she led her companions into victory.

Dad finally reached out to us. Can't tell us where he is. He gave us a list of names. Told us to do our jobs. 3 different couples went missing from 3 different states. Sammy pulled over, upset and angry that we were going to Indiana instead of California. And I don't blame him....after what happened. But Dream me does. He was given an order from Dad and he's following it. Sam left me to head to California but me...I'm still heading to Indiana to hopefully save people.

That can't be good. Woke up from a nap so maybe I'll find out what happens later. For now its pizza and beer time.

Hunting ghost killers is always fun.

At least there were no reapers or wendigos involved this time. Just a good old vengeful spirit.

I really don't like these dreams.

Anybody else ever woken up from one of these Dreams and had to run straight to the bathroom to vomit after something they’d seen in them? I want to be able to just block it out but it keeps coming back everytime I close my eyes. I can’t cope that way again even though I know it’ll make them stop Also - what is with the cops in my dreams trying to get me to say that my parents were attacked by wild dogs? Yeah I didn’t tell them about the monsters that I saw - I’m not that level of crazy there yet, just that we flipped and crashed while driving but I would have told them if it had been dogs or some other type of wild animal.

My seatbelt was jammed so I couldn’t get out of the car to help my parents, to help my mom as they started tearing into her body. Or to help Emma and that’s when the monsters noticed us and started coming towards the car. Luckily another car came around the bend in the road and the monsters took off, leaving me to be helped by the new arrivals and the drugs the EMT’s gave me when they showed up.

I don’t care if they did it last year. And I don’t care if the McDonald’s down the road breaks a 100 for you all the time. This isn’t last year and it’s not McDonald’s. My employees aren’t doing it without you buying anything. There’s a bank two parking lots over - go there.

Finally met my new boss for the first time. She seems nice. I think I'm going to like it there.

I've also had some of these dreams that people are talking about. I want off this rollercoaster.

Are faith healers really a thing? Cause the one in my dream last night was a complete whack job. Well, no. The healer thought he was legit performing miracles. Turns out his wife was into some nasty voodoo stuff, and well. She got what was coming to her in the end. Trying to control a reaper is probably never going to work out long term.

So in my dream last night, I got a phone call from my dad. Which, you know. Cool, cause we've been looking for him. He's in California, hunting the demon that killed my mom. I wanted to go to California to find him and help him, Dean insisted on going to Indiana to work the job he had found for us. So I got out of the car, Dean called me a selfish prick, and he went on to Indiana while I went to the bus station to go on to California. But then I talked to Dean and there was something going down in Indiana, and later when I couldn't reach him, I went to find him, and good thing I did. He was in an apple orchard where a Pagan God inhabited a scarecrow that demanded a sacrifice every year and the people who ran the town arranged for the sacrifice year after year. Dean interrupted the one for that year, and so they were intent on sacrificing him. Naturally, I saved him, and we left town after that.

I took Livvy out for dinner tonight and we were driving home when she asked me if I could record my voice on one of those build-a-bear hearts next time we go.

I told her that of course I would, thinking that she wanted it for comfort or whatever.

She responds with "Sweet because we're going to put that inside you when you die and fill you full of stuffing."

She said we so that means she's run this idea by someone else who has agreed on this idea.

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be honoured or really worried that my kid might be a psychopath.

I swear I'm not making this up but I just talked to a snowman. His name is Frosty and he's pretty cool.

I feel like it's a rule of thumb that if you come across a deserted funland amusement park, you shouldn't just wander around it. Same goes for movie sets that are being terrorised and circus' with crazy clowns. Seems like dream Mystery Gang just want to put themselves in scary situations.

I'm kinda annoyed that I keep getting kidnapped in these dreams though, and my hair is ruined almost constantly.

At least I can always rely on Scooby to save me.

Just a helpful hint for the next time you find yourself dealing with a service worker. If you find yourself about to utter the words "I don't want to be difficult/a bother but/however..." just stop right there. Do not finish whatever that sentence was going to be because it can never end well. Any sentence that starts that way actually means "I'm doing this on purpose to make your life harder because I can".

So I'm back from getting Inari and Emma settled in LA, signing the paperwork for the office space for Raith productions, all those responsible type things. Now to try to convince Kat and Enzo to give me back our bear and talk Harry into moving into the compound with me since I'm not used to living on my own get settled back in my house.

Today felt like Friday the 13th. I over slept. Then I spilled my coffee. Then I dropped the external drive I keep my work files on, and now it's borked. And now I've burned dinner because I got distracted playing with the dog. I called off work tomorrow, and I think I'm going to stay in bed all day.

Okay.

Dream me is creepy as fuck. Actually, that's a bit beyond creepy. No thanks. I'm glad that I'm not fucking like that. He also seems to like cartoons. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Along with hearing voices inside his damn head, also seeing an eye in his hand

I'm not that fucking crazy.

Adult dream me seems more put together than teen dream me, and maybe even like 10% less cynical and jaded. But why would she...I go back to Neptune after everything? I guess I really do like the danger.

I guess it's true, what they say about you can't go home again. Not even in the dreams.

I could really do without that dream.

Okay so another dream. Sammy and I were investigating something that sounded like the Hook Man urban legend. I get to go find the unmarked grave and dig it up to salt and burn the body while my brother gets to keep an eye on the cute girl. I think I got the crap end of the deal here.

We saved the girl, vanquished the spirit and another case solved. Still not any closer to finding our dad.

We can add shape shifters to the catalog of monsters I've encountered in the dreams. Really didn't need that experience.

I literally...just remembered today is my birthday.

I wonder what determines how long a person goes between dreams. I haven't had one for a while.

Cat-person me has made a number of friends in her efforts to help others. I've quite the penchant for getting myself into and out of trouble.

We come into direct conflict with this Empire for the first time and it nearly goes badly for us.

This dream world is fascinating. It's as though someone dumped our world's cultures into a mixing pot and then upended it into a plane of magic, monsters and crystals.

Crystals seem to be very important; the world run on something called Aether, which has a solid crystalline form. With it comes magic and life. And death.

Whenever it builds up or starts acting strangely, an umbral calamity usually follows. There've been six by the time I was born there.

They all seem to be attuned to an element. The third was a great calamity of fire, and the Fourth was the fall of the ancient Allagan Empire. The Sixth, being the most recent, is the most well known. Following the War of the Magi, a massive flood nearly destroyed our continent. But we were saved by twelve Archons, who we came to worship as gods.

There has also been number of mentions of Warriors of Light, a term we seem to give out to great heroes, but something about it strikes me deeply and truly in a way I can't quite put words to.

I've been trying to write as much down as I remember every morning, there's a whole history of another world and I've never been one to ignore new knowledge.

My mom in my dreams is not at all surprised that I skip classes. She wasn't upset or mad when Vanessa and I showed up at her bookstore. But Vanessa needed her to translate something in Latin.

Later that night after Vanessa's date with Michael she calls me to go come sleepover at midnight. Which is okay with my mom...because she thinks I'm an alien so rules just kind of never applied to me. She found me on the side of the road near a crash and I only have two memories before Kendra found me. Memories of a crash and a fire.

I am working on building a better air conditioner for my office. It's still too damn hot outside.

Had another cycle of dreams and I honestly feel like I'm starting to get whiplash or something. My life seems to have more twists than an M. Night Shyamalan movie. Only you know, it's my life so... Or dream life anyway. Either way, I'm feeling more than a bit overwhelmed. I don't even want to go to sleep, because who even knows what's next at this point!

Now that I'm back home with my brother, introductions are in order. I'm Richie Gecko, little brother to the pain in the ass, Seth Gecko. It's actually nice to be on solid ground and staying in one place for longer than a few days or a month. Work is a pain in the ass that way, but I have no intention of going anywhere any time soon.

Dream me is pretty good with kids. That part is similar at least. I have to say I'm a pretty awesome uncle. Not to brag or anything but I've even been called the best on occasion. This was one of those dreams though where it felt like more people were dying than we helped.

And woke up to the necklace I wear in them. These random gifts will never not be weird.

After that dream? I don't think I ever want to fly again.

So last night, I dreamed my brother and I went to this little town because people were going missing in a lake. Authorities dredged the lake, and didn't find anything. We found the spirit of a kid who had been murdered 35 years earlier, and he was slowly trying to kill everyone the two who killed him cared about. We saved a young woman and her kid, but we couldn't save her father (who was one of the child murders all those years ago), and the other guy who killed the kid and his children were lost too.

Dream me has a lot of unresolved issues. With my parents, with my brother, with life in general.

Jesus Christ, adopted Dream father is actually insane. Practically drowned me at ten for "training". Feels like I woke up waterlogged. Dude made me stay under water for seven minutes and it crossed over, feels like my lungs are actually burning. Thought I was actually going to die.

Well, I can see what Ash likes about living here, it's so pretty.

There must be something in the water because I've jumped on the dream train. I hope it's just an over active imagination because I'm dreaming up some strange, yet strangely realistic stuff.

Like going to prison.

Nearly six months I go without a Dream. I thought I was done with the fucking things, but no, now I get to wake up smelling like a goddamn house fire. I think I might've inhaled a fair amount of smoke, too.

God, would it ever be nice if these things would just leave me alone already.

I really don't know what to think about these dreams.

I had another one last night. Just as surreal as the first one.

Welp, it looks like mystery solving is either really well paying, or our parents are bank rolling this fun break from learning actual educational things.

I mean, sure, the mystery solving is honing our deductive reasoning, and logical thinking is a huge part of it. Fred's traps are... well hit and miss, but there's probably some physics in there too. Velma doesn't need to worry about a thing, I guess, and I do still get to use make up knowledge to solve some of these. I just wish I got to change out of the purple sometimes. It's nice, but it's not a statement colour.

Of course, then you've got these people, dressing up and trying to scare folks so that they can make money or get away with something. I suppose that's another life lesson? Take responsibility for your actions or some group of meddling kids will come along and unmask you?

I don't even know anymore, I'm still waiting for Scooby to suddenly start talking and for me to understand him.
