I'm not sure which part was more disturbing about my dream last night. The Captain's Woman part or the promotion through killing a superior officer part. And on my ship. Or a close facsimile of my ship. An alternate timeline where we conquered everything, rather than expand through peace.

Ever since the Hamilton cast politely told Mike Pence what's what, I've been interested in their play. The music is great, but let me tell you, the mixtape the resulted from the music? Totally rocks. I can't find a link to this song I love, but these are the lyrics. I'd like to dedicate this one to everyone who wasn't born in the OC. ;)

I had a Serendipity moment that ended horribly different from the movie. A woman and I both grabbed for the same pair of leather gloves at the same time. We smiled awkwardly, each of us thinking that the other would let go, but both held onto our respective gloves. I finally said "I think I grabbed this one first." and she scoffed and said "I don't think so."

Then I said "Oh, damn, there's a scratch in the leather on this one." leaning in to take a closer look. She let go of hers to take a look at mine. I grabbed them both and triumphantly headed to check-out. I think I made an enemy, but someone is getting a nice pair of gloves from me for Christmas!

The principal dancer who is dancing as Odette/Odile is doing such a great job. It makes me feel kind of... Down. I know I'm the understudy, but I wonder if I could ever dance as beautifully as her. She brings the crowd to their feet every night. It's enough to make any dancer insecure. There's no wondering why she got the lead. Her lines are flawless. If you guys don't come to see me as a cygnet, come to see her as Odette.
