I'm not sure which part was more disturbing about my dream last night. The Captain's Woman part or the promotion through killing a superior officer part. And on my ship. Or a close facsimile of my ship. An alternate timeline where we conquered everything, rather than expand through peace.

Sort of ... a crew woman the captain sleeps with. Who has some power on the ship because of that.

It's not something I like either. Apparently in the Terran Empire a woman can advance by sleeping with the right people.

Which is true in a lot of industries but it's practically codified there.

In "my" universe things are a lot more equal.

It wasn't even me. It was an alternate version of me from another reality. There was a transporter accident and I crossed ove to that reality.

I'm by no means perfect, but I'm not like that.

I was kind of a hellion growing up. He doesn't always follow the rules, but he breaks the rules when they need to be broken.
