Well, I killed the Strigoi in the apartment in my Dreams singlehandedly. I don't mean to brag, but Dream-me is a bit of a badass and quite the survivor. I found my way back to my asshole friends, too. Their reason for leaving me in the apartment? "Well, we weren't going to die with you!" Yeah, great, thanks, assholes. Do I look dead to you?

Braden doesn't look too good. I think he might have gotten stung. Time will tell. I don't actually think I'd get any pleasure from beheading him. We did have some history before he started behaving like a prick.

I'm exhausted. I don't even know why. I just am. And I might be debating my job's requests to go back overseas.

The more I think on it. The more I miss it.

Except I don't miss parts.

Oh, it's a Monday.

Email from old trainer. "Why aren't you training for the fight at Madison Square Garden anymore? Did I miss a memo?" since he was out with his own injury I can't exactly head desk at him. How do you politely tell someone if you actually fought professionally anymore you'd probably accidentally really hurt the other person?

Monday, I really could do without these moral quandaries so early.

For the record? I replied with "I work for my father now and I just do not have the time" because it's not a lie. It's just not the whole story.

Anybody recommend a good place in the area for customised weaponry? I have a great guy in the UK but more local contacts are always handy.

I've learned I can be happy with myself even if I'm still trying to figure out who I am. That's gotta mean I'm becoming a true Cali native, right? Existential meanderings of the mind in the middle of a Monday?

Mom went to her doctor today for another check and so far the surgery for her cancer a month ago remains a success and there is no cancer to be seen. I can only hope it stays that way.

Work for the new club with Damon and Enzo is gearing up nicely. If all goes according to plan, we will have a December 1st launch date.

I indulged in a Greek inspired tarot set while on holiday, purely for personal readings and I have to say I've been rather pleased with the results so far. It's been highly accurate.

....I don't think you can get used to these dreams. They've been happening for months now, and I thought nothing could be as bad as experiencing my mom's death. And then I found the man who was ordered to kill her, the man who promised to tell me the name of who ordered the hit, and I had to kill him before he gave me the information.

I shot him to save someone else; to protect someone simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. On some level I knew it could happen, I chose to become a cop, and cops live with the reality of that decision every day but it still weighs on me. Living or dreaming, I keep thinking about it.

Not least of all because I've seen that man before. He's currently serving consecutive life sentences for murder and attempted murder.

This sucks.

So after Saturday I can officially cross "Drink with a pirate" off my bucket list. I'm not normally a big fan of parties but I'm really glad I went to that one.
