Going to Hawaii tomorrow! Well, later today anyway. I'm looking forward to this. I need the break. And I guess we're officially girlfriends now. Going on vacation together and everything.

That wasn't even my plan when I came back to the OC.

I spent so much time yesterday baking pie and eating it. I still smell like dough and fruit. I guess there are worse things in life.

It was much easier to ignore Mothering Sunday since I wasn't in London, than it is to ignore your mother's day.

Dior is only three years old, but he attempted to bring me breakfast in bed. It consisted of poptarts and cereal, and I suspect he may have had some help.

Mother's Day, that day where I won't call my mom, and she won't call me, and that pretty much sums up our relationship at this point.

I think the last time we talked was mostly yelling and her demanding I get out of this "lesbian phase" I'm apparently in.

It is days like today that I sorely miss my mother. Fight or not fight you will find me eating a tub of chocolate ice cream. I'll burn it off tomorrow. But today? I cannot even go home to lay flowers on her grave. Hopefully Father will do so for me, although it occurs, he probably doesn't remember since being in the States I celebrate both Home's and Here's Mother's Day....

I feel bad for how much I hate Mother's Day.

If anyone has need of me, I'm hopping the train down to San Diego to see my mom. It's just her and me, so Mother's Day is kind of a big deal in our family. I'll be back Tuesday.

While I have enjoyed time spending time with my step-mother today and I'm thankful that her and my step-father took me in and helped make the woman I am today, I'm just feeling like I wish I knew who my birth mother was.

It's just more of the whole "I want you to know I exist" thing, more than wanting her to be a mother figure to me. Anyway, if anyone would like to go out for a drink later, I'd like the company.

Mother's Day.

Did you call your mother? Is she still alive and kickin'? Are your fingers broken?

Then get on the damn telephone if you haven't, yet. Except for Pryde, sounds like she's got a good excuse.

I can appreciate my sister for trying to cook today. Since it's what our mother used to do. But she's not very good at it. Her heart is in the right place. I still had to save the kitchen from disaster.

There are things I can't always talk to her about (and things she can't always talk to me about) but most of the people I'd talk to have left. I need to get out more, I think.

So Mother's Day is today, is it?

I never knew my mother. I don't have any memories of her. What does one do when they don't remember their mother?

Talking with my mother made me remember that I miss seeing her and dad. What was supposed to be a quick happy Mother's Day chat turned into an hour and a half of chatting about anything and everything. I should sit down and plan a trip back home sometime.

Only a couple of weeks now before I go to Europe. It will be nice to stop in and see my father before I get back into last minute training and head to Bulgaria. The IOC has also released the qualifications for Rio 2016, so it looks like I'll have a busy year next year if I want to make the team.

As happy as I was to take some time off, it'll be nice to get back into it.
