I got a photograph today. A photograph of a guy called Jude Cripp; he looks a little different from my dreams. He has a ponytail, he's a lot chubbier, but it's him all the same.

He was familiar to me, in the dreams. But not....familiar in the usual way. I saw Dracula when I was fifteen, the one with Neo in it? Dumb movie. I just wanted to see Monica Bellucci's tits. I remember something else from it, though. The guy Tom Waits played, Renfield? He wasn't a vampire like Dracula, but he worked for him. He was like someone who wasn't a vampire yet but was on his way, like a...caveman-to-human type of thing. He did stuff for Dracula, stuff the Count couldn't do himself for one reason or another. Jude was....he was like that. He was my familiar.

Or maybe I'm just crazier than ever before.

Tonight, we're all dressed up for the annual Sixsmith Christmas party. Mum and Dad always tend to go overboard, but it's usually a good time. And this year I get to bring Robert, which will make everything even better. My family is so completely charmed by him, it's fantastic.

Charlie's coming too, of course, and he looks dashing.


Hopefully he'll get along with my mother's terrible little dog.

Christmas creeps up on me every year, it seems. I suppose it comes from not having a very festive family, but I do like to celebrate it, in my own quiet way.

I did manage to get a tree up, and some lights and garlands, so my house looks very cozy and merry. Though other than the company party, which comes after Christmas so that our employees can spend some time with their families, I've no real plans.

Ah know this is a bit weird, but ah've got a Christmas gift for ya.

Finally getting around to wrapping all these gifts. I know, I'm terrible. But with Dean Martin carols on the radio, it's hard for me to care too much.

I did something decent for a change. I saw on the news that some little kid had been kidnapped. I told the police where he was and they went in and got them.

Job well done, right? Except now it's sort of a thing and they want me to help out again. Which is fine and all.. I want to help.

I just can't help but feel like I've put a target on my back.
