I do believe I have managed to find myself a nice little winning streak here. New flat, new job, fresh start and no obscenely annoying neighbors yet. I suppose it's a start at least. Also quite excited about next month's approach. Oktoberfest and Halloween, double money maker at the bar for sure.

I'm still trying to get my baring around town though. Can anyone suggest a decent farmer's market in the area? Do they even have farmer's markets here?

I just woke up from another dream. I haven't had one in a couple weeks, so I wasn't expecting it. My family in my dreams are so different from in real life. Not only is Katherine not in my dreams, but now my aunt and uncle aren't even married. They only just meet in the dream. Ric comes in as the new History teacher at our school and he randomly takes an interest in me. Gives me some extra credit assignment or something. Then Jenna and I are at The Grill and he happens to be there and of course Jenna pervs over him, so I leave. Later on, Jenna comes home with Ric and he starts acting kind of weird, just loitering in the doorway then he left. Seriously, why is my family so different in my dreams?

Of course now I can't get back to sleep. I think I'll play some video games. I'll just skip school and sleep tomorrow.

So I guess I should finally get on this thing. Stiles and Lydia have been bothering me for weeks about it, but I just haven't had time. I don't know what possessed me to get on now that school's starting up again, but here I am.

Speaking of school, does anyone have college applications coming up? Mine are a year away, thankfully, but my mom keeps telling me it's never too soon to start thinking about them. She wants me to get as far away from Santa Ana as I can, but I'm just hoping I can manage to get into UCI or something close to home.

I'm through the worst part of quitting smoking, but I'm pretty tired of this oral fixation nonsense. I've destroyed a pen a day at work, gone through two packs of gum, and a bag of hard candy.

At least I stopped chewing my nails, but only because I painted them, and then I started chewing pens so I'm not sure I upgraded.

My daughter and I making a batch of Autumn Spice soy candles with our very own blend of essential oils, using recycled babyfood jars as votive holders. If they turn out well, maybe we'll sell the ones that aren't already designated for gift-giving in the clinic.

On the one hand, I kind of like the pie smell that seems to have permeated the house. On the other, I kind of feel cheated that there isn't any actual pie.

Might have to fix that.

How do you all put up with medical care in this country? I just took a look at the bill for my hospital trip, and it's ridiculous.

I wish it was next semester so I could take more of the classes I want for my major. Instead I have to take the prerequisites to taking classes for video game development. English and math are not my strong areas at all. Dyslexia will do that to you.
