Well, someone just surprised me with tickets to Paris, so who am I to turn down a week vacation? I haven't been since we moved when I was a child... It'll be nice to go back!

Hello, Valarnet! It's been a while since I've done a proper, lengthy update--what with the whirlwind book tour and all--but now that I have completed the homestretch, I reckon I'm past due. For those of you who are new to my ramblings, I write under the name of H.B. Finn, and you may recognize my byline from one of the fine local newspapers. Or maybe you've seen my photograph on the back of a little novel called The Patchwork Monk, which was the first in my steampunk novel series.

Whatever the case, I am pleased to announce that Smoke & Miscellany (or as I have seen it abbreviated, S&M (nudge-nudge, wink-wink, say no more)) book two, The Cross-wired Machinist has been released, and you can get it just about anywhere books are sold! I hope you'll forgive the shameless self-promotion, but if you're interested in epic tales of struggle and self-discovery in a sort of Verne and Twain meet Jim Butcher style...

I'm your Huckleberry.

(And yes, I really do prefer that to my given name.)

I should be used to Alex being gone at night. He's a firefighter, so he works for three whole days, normally, and it's only barely been longer than that since things started going wrong again. Visiting him doesn't help, it makes it worse, actually. Seeing someone jerking Alex's body around like a puppet, not knowing if he's in there and aware or not.

I hate this feeling. What good is it to have all this power when all the big problems need other solutions?

A kindergarten student came up to me today, told me he'd found a cat, but it was dead. "How do you know that the cat was dead?" I asked him. "Because I pissed in its ear and it didn't move," answered the child innocently. "You did WHAT?!?!?!" I yelled, shocked. "You know," explained the boy, "I leaned over and went 'Pssst!' and it didn't move."

I was about to blame the rap music.

So Saturday night, the club's been bought out by a guy named Jay Gatsby.

He told me to let you all know. Weird as hell you ask me, but what do I know? I just own the joint.

Prom is tomorrow.

I just picked up my tux. It looks pretty good, but feels really hot (as in warm).

What else do I need to know?

I can't wait to graduate.

Introductions always seem false and awkward. We just rattle off some vague, sanitized information in the hopes we don't offend potential 'friends'. I'll try to avoid that if I can.

I'm Sandor Clegane, I'm from England, I was a soldier and now I'm not. My face got burned when I was a boy. I like to drink and fight and watch women's tennis. That's that.

I see that there are a few people on here heading to Paris soon, and there are some things that I would love to see for myself, but since I can't right now? I have a few photo requests, if somebody is willing to take the time to scout some of this out. It's really, really important if you don't mind doing it. I have a bit of a...thing I want to do with some of this, so...

3. Number 16, rue de la Verrerie

4. Place Edmond Rostand across from the Mcdonalds. The burger place that borders the Luxembourg.

5. The intersection of the rue Rambuteau and the rue Mondétour (Halles stop on the Metro) , Specifically the Body One Lingerie, I believe. The internet tells me it's a vintage clothing shop now. It's a small white building anyway, on the right.

Um.. Has anyone heard from Katniss lately? I'm starting to get a little worried about her. I haven't heard from her in a few days and it's not like her to not check in with me.

To the woman on here who asked if I were nesting yet? Guess what! I have cleaned every inch of my room from top to bottom, and the living room, and the kitchen! Even in the little creases of the tiling. How did I get so much energy and why must everything be spotless? And why did I organise the spice rack? I CANT EVEN COOK!

And I found out where all the left socks go. My sister has been protesting something fierce at me for all of it and insists I just lay down.

But I do it while she's at school. Mwahahaha. Wait oops.

I never expected to be so comfortable with a huge social network site like this. But most of you are so inviting it's nice. I already have friends. Oh and one more thing. Is there anyone looking for a photographer for any kind of event? I need to get a camera first, ugh

I'm looking to expand on my portfolio away from just flowers and activism. For the sake of having a job.
