It's strange getting used to being back after being gone so long. As nice as Germany was, it's good to be back home. Job's lined up, apartment's moved into, got a car (a necessity, truly), so I think it's all good to go. I wish I had some more time to settle in properly, but, well, there you go.

On that note, if anyone at UCLA is taking international studies, particularly European studies, I'm sure I'll see you around. You can find my contact info on the faculty website. Even if you're not in one of my courses, I'd be glad to help if I can. Also I'll be teaching a more specialized class - a smaller, more researched based course than a big lecture. European politics in 19th Century literature. It's more fun than it sounds. Really.

Hello, ladies. I'm here now, try and keep your fangirling to a minimum.

What's a popstar able to do in this town? Where's the highest and most hip place to dance, drink and... Maybe a few other things.

My boss sent me home from work today because I'm not feeling very well. I'm pretty sure it's just a cold, but it's better safe than sorry. I could use the rest anyway. All of the wedding planning has been running me ragged. I decided I want to make my own wedding dress and then there's all of the travel arrangements to make and about a million other things. It's just a lot.

Everyone should be getting save the date cards in the mail soon though! I just need to pick them up from the printer and send them out.

Okay. I'm going to take some Nyquil and try to get some rest. Hopefully I won't have any dreams so the rest will remain uninterrupted.

Seems there is an illness traveling through the ranks. Or half the department called in sick for no damn good reason.

Flu shots should be enforced.

This is probably going to make half of you think I'm going crazy, but I swear to god I keep seeing a little girl out of the corner of my eye. Or I'll hear her giggling and then when I turn around to see who it was there's no one there. I keep getting creeped out and it doesn't seem like it's stopping. Another dream-related phenomenon? Tell me I'm not the only one.

For once my dreams last night weren't so bad. A little depressing, but at least I wasn't destroying a shopping mall or something.

I had marathon dreams last night. I don't think my mind was ready to let go of Christmas, even though it's already past New Years. I dreamed about Christmas at Hogwarts, I dreamed about Christmas at home with my family... I had really good dreams. Really vivid. I woke up and half expected my mother to come knocking on my door with Christmas breakfast.

I wouldn't mind having any of those dreams again.

And I thought my last dream was strange.

This time? Killer robots on a sandminer. The Doctor sorted it all out, though. Just like always.

At least I got to kick that idiot with the ridiculous hat.

I don't think it's good to wake up from a nightmare with blood under my fingernails. I split my lip too, with all of the tossing and turning. And I didn't even watch a scary movie before bed or anything.

Why couldn't I have made them write 'do anything stupid and Taiki will kick you' into his contract? It would've made things so much easier.

So much for this guy being easy to handle...

Bit under the weather today, honestly. Seems like everyone else isn't tip top either. But laughter IS the best medicine, and so clearly the best place to get your jollies is For The Lulz. 15% off everything today only, because I said so!

I heard there's some students at UCLA doing a food drive next week.

I'd like to extend the offer, as head of the Senior class of CSU - Fullerton, of our support, if you'll have it. The more colleges and schools we can get involved in the community, the greater good we may do.

Today I feel like complete crap and have been curled up in a blanket fort with a copy of Rousseau's collected works. Something happened to me last night that made me consider giving him a second look beyond what we covered in Intro Philosophy. So far I'm too tired to focus properly, I'm intrigued but know I have a long, very long, way to go before I fully understand. Brilliant stuff though, really. I'm enjoying it.

Are we still doing coffee tonight, or shall I stay in and get over this keep reading?

I guess it was just a matter of time until I caught something, what with all the time I've spent in the ER lately. Pho to the rescue.

Why is this paper so... So very hard to finish. I have to get it done this weekend and I'm 3 pages behind.

I dreamed about Messrs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs last night. A bunch of other things happened, but that was the part that stuck with me the most. A magical map that shows where people are on it, like GPS, but it was created in the 1970's. Pretty amazing magic. I was very impressed, though I remember being very suspicious, too.

I'm anxious to see where these dreams go. I've dreamed a little bit out of order, but it seems like my dreams are going chronologically lately.

I think I'm coming down with whatever everyone else is. Either that or it's the power of persuasion after reading about everyone else getting sick. I think I'm going to head to that drug store with the minute clinic.

I may have to start instituting new rules for my students, in the coming semester.
