So public beheadings are now a thing in my dreams.

What the hell is wrong with people?

As part of [theatre company]'s aim to bring new shows on Broadway to the West Coast, auditions for Hadestown will be held the weekend of May 17th, then callbacks the weekend of May 24th.

One thing I like about these times of years is I can attend, say, Star Wars Celebration as myself.

The me of a few years ago would have balked at that, but I've come to terms with the fact my dreams are also a franchise and pictures like that ... help a lot.

I'm probably more amused by these people ranting about the end of times showing up near a theatre putting on Jesus Christ Superstar than I should be... but c'est la vie.

It is entirely possible that the cast got into costume and then went to sing "Have You Never Been Mellow" at them.

I regret nothing.

It's just like my sister to freaking elope and not even tell me. I don't even know this guy, what if he's a loser? Or worse? Nesta and I might get along like oil and water but I don't want to see her hurt.

My dreams have been most unkind of late.

If anyone would like to share good things from their dreams, I'd really appreciate it.

There are definitely times when I am relieved I'm not on social media like Twitter all that much and that I'm not a well known theatre name outside of Orange County. Because the entitlement you see in people is absurd. Yes, I understand the planning it can take to get to New York to see a show on Broadway. Yes, I understand wanting to see a performer you really like or that 'big name' and finding out they aren't performing that day can be disappointing. But that gives you no right to then harass them on Twitter for daring not to be at the performance. Actors are people, and this is live theatre, which means that life happens and you are not entitled to an explanation of illness or family emergency. Get a refund if you're that annoyed (even if that's ridiculous as well because of the very nature of theatre and it's not just one person and you never know who you might discover in an understudy) but don't attack people on Twitter or social media and expect not to get called out.

Dieu.

Just a reminder that next week is Orange County Miscast, where a bunch of different actors and actresses from the community will put on a show where we all perform songs and roles we would never actually be cast as - a lot of us currently in productions have chosen songs from the show we're involved in as added incentive.

And on that particular note, with Jesus Christ Superstar having it's preview weekend at the end of the month, I can now announce that Anthony Head, probably best known for his role as Giles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will be performing the role of Pontius Pilate.

Well, it appears that even when I am not in Orange County, if I am supposed to go see a show I've already performed in, I somehow get pulled into actually performing instead.

Why yes, Armand, Percy and I did go to New York this past weekend for the one night only concert-staged reading of The Scarlet Pimpernel. And yes, I did end up having to fill in for the role of myself. Which was certainly something given the minor differences and then new songs involved. Thank goodness the nature of the production allowed me a script if necessary. Though I do feel I was more off book than both Tony Yazbeck and Norm Lewis at the end of the day, even with the minor changes.

Still, now I get to focus on this weekend's performances for Leading Ladies of Orange County, as well as rehearsals for Jesus Christ Superstar which are underway for previews the last weekend of March and running through April.

It looks as though my next two performances will be as part of group concerts.

Leading Ladies of Orange County the last weekend of February at [venue], and then OC Miscast the second weekend of March at [venue].

I think my dreams have stopped.
The last ones I had were in mid December.
I feel like I'm going to miss these... misadventures, of sorts.
But what a way to end if that was really it.

Additionally, I would very much like to thank everyone and anyone that was involved with, or came out to see, Moulin Rouge over the play's run. It was an honor to share the stage with such incredible talent.

One week down, three more to go.

And with the way all the previous performances have been, I'm pretty sure that every performance will be sold out. Andrew really has outdone himself this time around in choosing a show, that much is certain.

Also it looks as though there is a one night only concert of The Scarlet Pimpernel in February at the Lincoln Center and I am far more amused than I probably should be. That also has me rather curious on which set list it will be and who will be the elusive Scarlet Pimpernel. I do approve of the announced cast so far though.

If anyone wanted tickets for Moulin Rouge but wasn’t able to get them - let me know. Maman and I won’t be able to use ours after all.

I read earlier that today is National Redhead Day so in honor of that, I sent my best friend this meme. I thought it was fitting for Clary.

Also, I think my shiny luck in Pokemon Go is changing. I've caught three in the last three days.

Tickets for Moulin Rouge are now on sale!

Preview performances are the weekend of November 23rd, with our official opening being Tuesday, November 27th and the show will run through December 23rd.

Given the ending of the show, I'll understand if you don't wish to sit through run through rehearsals or want to run lines from the end. I'm basically off book as it is but Armand can help if necessary.

Being English, I always celebrated Guy Fawkes Night moreso than Halloween. I'm curious, would any fellow Brits, or anyone else here, be interested in a Guy Fawkes Night celebration? There may not be a life-sized effigy of Guy Fawkes to burn, but there will at least be a smaller one. Food and so forth will also be provided if anyone is interested in coming.

For those who don't know, Guy Fawkes Night is November 5th.

So I'm tempted to just wear my Supergirl suit for Halloween, but at the same time, if I am a superhero, I probably shouldn't just tell the whole world who I am, right?

I am starting a Ballet Company, if any were interested in trying out, or just to view performances when we begin them.

I could also, perhaps, stand to have someone show me around.

I do so love music rehearsals. Though after hearing Corey's version of not only Your Song but also Roxanne, I fear I may just have to leave my husband.

OMG! I just found out the hottest guy in school is my boyfriend!

So, now that talks are done and everything is finalized, I can officially announce the next show that will be put on at [theater company].

The show will be Moulin Rouge!, which recently finished its premiere run in Boston and is in talks to move to Broadway for the 2018/2019 season. Auditions will be the weekends of 14-16 and then 21-23.

So the villain in my dreams and real life has started giving me gifts. A bracelet, a dress, now some drawing of me and a horse. I think dream!me is starting to soften towards him, but real!me still hates him. It's very frustrating.

Anyone else hate someone from their dreams that their dreamself doesn't?

Has anyone else had a really bad dream but then it caused something good to happen in their real life? Cause that definitely just happened for me.

I've heard this is the best, and generally secure means to getting in touch with the local community, which is not something I've done so much in the past. I'm Leia Organa, and I've recently moved to the area.

I'm involved with the Legal Aid Office in Santa Ana, and the Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law. They've both got a pretty healthy social media presence already, but I thought it might be another way to reach out.

I've heard that also .. using this network is, just the done thing around here.

It’s definitely a little strange

And after some rumor and getting things all worked out, there will be a Bandstand reunion for Fleet Week (August 31st - September 3rd) where we'll be performing every night an abridged version of the show. There will be auditions for the ensemble with an emphasis on dance experience and familiarity with swing dancing in particular.

Now, I had the Royal Ascot horse races on today while I was working, and everything's going along fine, until the final race of the day, there's a horse named Sir Chauvelin. There is a man named Chauvelin in my dreams, so I happened to be entirely amused by this horse's name. The horse was no where near as dark and severe as the Chauvelin in my dreams. Though the horse still came in second in the race, which also amused me.

Ah, it's the little things like this that tend to amuse us the most, isn't it?

I'm so happy that CBS decided to post the Eight Times a Week clip from last week's Tony Awards, especially on a two-show day.

And just like that, it's opening night! For anyone wanting to know the schedule for Newsies, it's as follows

June 1st - 24th

Wednesdays and Thursday performances are at 7:30 pm.
Friday performances are at 8 pm.
Saturday performances are at 2 and 8 pm.
Sunday performances are at 2 pm.

There will be two audience talk back sessions with the cast, Wednesday the 6th and Wednesday the 20th.
Closed caption performance will be Saturday the 16th at 2 pm, and ASL interpreted performance will be Saturday the 23rd at 2 pm.

So... Percy and I ended up going to the Hall of Records yesterday morning to get married instead of dealing with all the headache of planning a wedding. However, there will be a reception at the end of the month once Newsies closes to celebrate with friends. So um, surprise?

While waking up to flowers is always a nice thing, the fact that these were the signal for me to get out and to safety. Of course it's when I'm supposed to meet Chauvelin and he's caught on. Either way, it seems that the Dauphin has been found and we are taking currently care of him back in England, so things did work out despite the typical things getting messy for a moment. I suppose now it's waiting to see what the next adventure will be.

Though a break would be nice as we're getting into crunch time with rehearsals as we open in less than a month, and thus start tech and dress rehearsals soon.

I'm well aware of what can cross over from dreams, both in the form of items and powers.

But babies, has anyone heard of those crossing over?

Well, I will certainly give Robespierre this. He is much better at understanding the long game than Chauvelin. I'm fairly certain Chauvelin is suspicious though by my return to France and how I claim to have left my husband and wish to return to the Revolution. Which admittedly he should be.

There is something rather unsettling about seeing Percy be a more believable Chauvelin than the man himself. Of course that meant I then referred to Chauvelin as Percy as the ruse was on to fool the woman who calls herself "Mademoiselle Guillotine", which we did much to Chauvelin's chagrin as he was thus believed to the Scarlet Pimpernel as there was no one there to vouch for him. Now to wait for the real Percy's arrival once again to get to the rebel camp. Still, there is something about improv in such situations.

In non-Dream related performing - I will be performing the role of Katherine Plumber in Newsies at the La Miranda Theatre from June 1st to the 24th.

What the hell is happening?

Well, the performances this past weekend we a success and look to be something that may happen more frequently. For now though, it's back to auditions.

Though in that vein, just as there is in theatre a need to know what roles you can believably perform and know which ones that - no matter you skill or ability, you simply will not be believable in - the same goes for undercover work in the Dreams. I do not care how much a master of disguise one is, know your limits and accept that you can't pull off all the costumes and will get caught if you try. Such as if you only work with men and the place you are trying to get into is a convent where men are not permitted, under any circumstance.

Right well, that was a strange dream. It's official, this set of Dreams is officially the one the diverges the most from what is expected. A revolutionary tribunal? Eh, been there before. Even Robespierre being there isn't that odd. But to not only be denounced by my former understudy and Armand's lover, but for Chauvelin to be the one to try and save my life? I.... I have no words. Of course then claiming I believe in France but not the madness that has taken over condemned me to la guillotine, but really. Chauvelin.

But in less odd dream things, the setlist for next weeks performances at the Catalina Bar has been finalized, and because I was able to bring back the Donny Nova band, some of the songs will have a swing band instead of just me and a piano. So I'm even more excited for the performance than I already was.

So apparently not only am I secretly married, but I'm also pregnant. Thank goodness for that Skeeter woman to let me know what's happening in my own life as I never would have known otherwise!

And here I had begun to feel left out of the made up celebrity drama.

I just got off the phone with my agent, and I will be performing at the Catalina Bar and Grill Jazz Club in Los Angeles March 8th-10th. So what I'm looking for are song requests for what to perform. Below is a list of musicals I've done since graduating high school for an idea, though I'm open to all suggestions be they from different shows, Disney, whatever you have and I'll see if it fits vocally/whatever theme begins to emerge. And yes, Armand. I will make sure that 'Dyin' Ain't So Bad' is on the list.

I'm discovering I don't handle break ups well.

You would think four years, minus the time I was here a few years back, doing my classes at Harvard would have prepared me for law school but nope. I am momentarily reconsidering my direction in life. It will probably pass, but just in case, does anyone know what someone who was a philosophy major can do in life?

Know what's worse than being the sudden focus of an obviously bullshit tabloid story? Having said tabloid story brought to your attention by your own students.

Fortunately said students have enough brains in their skulls to know a bullshit story when they read one. Not that that stopped them from spending nearly the entirety of the class laughing and coming up with some (admittedly clever) barbs in my direction.

I'm just hoping the department head has as many brains, not to mention the university board...

...though, all that being said, I choose to take the compliment about my ass for what it is.

Well, start a new set of dreams yet again and somehow St. Cyr is even worse than he's been in the previous four sets. That's just....

So to distract myself from that, I decided to look up potential shows that are coming up to audition for and fell down the rabbit hole of YouTube with the actors who 'originated' both Percy and Chauvelin in the musical version/first set of dreams. It was...definitely an experience.

Part of me is actually ashamed of myself for not recognizing this before because of Terrence Mann and I should know this as I declared him my voice husband when I was 8, plus the fact I've seen Doug Sills in other shows. However, mostly I just think I'll never be able to look at Chauvelin the same again.

I've had three auditions this week. I'm just... loving this life!! :)

My agent says I'm a shoe-in for all three of them. Actually, I think she says I'm a shoe-in for everything! She's really supportive. ♥

I must say, I don't think I was expecting such a large community. Dreams aren't something that I would normally talk about with other people, but the one that I had was so vivid that I felt compelled to do some research on the internet and ended coming across this site.

Has anyone else dreamed that they were from a completely different time period?

Ain't sure what's worse, being compelled to sing a Christmas Carol, or that it had to be Jingle Bell Rock.

Opening weekend a success besides Armand punching Percy, though I'm fairly certain this is the first time I've seen a few people go for a standing ovation before the end of the first act. Still weird to be acting out my first set of dreams nightly, sometimes twice a day in the span of two and a half hours, though I doubt it will ever not be weird, at least not by the time we wrap production on the 24th. C'est la vie. Such is the life in Orange County.
