So. Aliens. That's a thing that happens.

Like my dreaming wasn't getting complicated enough, I had to turn into the token damsel between feuding aliens. I feel like if I say it enough, I might start to believe it.

I better not lose my hair from this stupid blast of whatever that was.

Well as quickly as that awesome mood swept in, it swept back out. It was lovely, though, while it lasted. Time to find how to recapture it. Had a lot of fun, though. I honestly think it just has to do with who's the loudest in my head at the moment.

I think I'll curl up with a mug of tea and try to get them back into order. I hate having my head hurt.

So I heard something on the radio the other day, a new study of sorts (it lasted two bloody years!), with the results indicating that over 60% of the women surveyed watch porn and of that percentage, 66% are watching it alone - as in, for their own enjoyment, and don't really care to use it to figure out what their partner likes or wants in bed. Mostly just using it as a 'quick road to orgasm' so I say, good on you, ladies.

Most also tend to view it on their Smartphones which I wasn't so sure about but I guess it leaves one hand free, so there you go.

Well, I finally got some of those dreams that I've heard people talking about.

Yeah. I think I agree with some of the consensus I've seen other people have about their dreams. Mine suck. At least, the ones I had the other night certainly did.

In my dreams, I was in a foster home. Several of them, actually. Apparently, I bounced around a lot. Never really stayed in one place for long. As soon as I got comfortable, as soon as I thought I'd found a place I thought I could call home, I got shifted again. No one knew anything about me, either. Who my parents were, where I was born, even my name. In the orphanage that I kept getting sent back to, they called me Mary Sue Poots. Um...eew. I can see why I decided to go by Skye when I was older in my dreams. Not that that isn't so weird, as Skye is my middle name.

So yeah. Apparently, according to my dreams, my life as I know here is a lie. Good to know.

I had thought, perhaps, when joining the rank of dreamers around here things would get interesting.

Instead, the parallels are uncanny. Misogyny is apparently something that transfers over very nicely. Thanks Dad. Then again, I'm not sure if anything will compare to flying a fighter jet through hostile air space.

Work is so very boring in comparison.

I'm ready for classes to start back up again. Perhaps teaching will give me the inspiration I need to get back into writing.

It's weird, the more I exhibit my old paintings the less I like them. I see where I wanna redo things and where I suck, and people are all 'oh no they're good' and I'm all 'yeah, well, they're not'. I'm not insecure, I just got better.

Some days I just wonder why I even bother. Why I'm here. Why I haven't fled yet. Today? One of those days. Ugh.

Has anyone successfully been able to keep the dreams separate from their real life?

I just finished a really fantastic book, and I'm looking for some recommendations for what to read next. I figured this network is full of smart and interesting people, they probably read smart and interesting things? Or at least interesting things.

The book I finished was "Ready Player One" by Ernest Cline. It's sort of dystopian, Science Fiction, with tons of geeky, pop culture references. I really enjoyed it. I'd like to find something else to read.

I met a nice guy in my dreams last night. A photographer, kind of shy-ish. His name was Matt. Knowing my dreams he'll probably turn out to be a dragon or some other supernatural creature. Nothing is ever as it seems in my dreams.

How the hell do my dreams go from being hilariously ridiculous (or ridiculously hilarious, I can't decide) to complete shit just like that? Like, one moment, Amelia a companion of mine and I were singing in these skimpy dresses to conjure up a spell, doesn't work, I get to blow things up, score - and then we meet the personification of what's left of the Aqualord's memories, she shows me what could happen if a spell goes wrong, and then we're attacked by a demon lord in a tacky orange trench coat. Wow, there's not much of a difference between him here and there honestly.

Also, dream-me is a 16 year-old prude and I want to smack her in the face.

But the Claire Bible manuscript was cool and the new spell is more than nifty. I woke up and scribbled down as much as I could about the manuscript, because, you know, someone thought it was a good idea to destroy it.

My dreams are involving more high-level monsters and from experience, that's never a good thing.

I had the worst nightmare I've ever had last night, it felt real, and when I woke up, I had a draft notice and dog tags from the forties on my desk. Cap had to wake me up, the dream got so bad. Is this what the "Dreams" are? Terrible shit happening to you in your sleep, waking up with things you've never seen before?

So, the first dreams were just the tip of the iceberg. Like I'd been seeing only half the picture...or a close up, and then suddenly the camera pulled back and what I thought was a fairly normal existence has been revealed to be...insanity.

My brother is involved in the craziness even more than I thought he was. Which makes me wonder if my brother here is as well. Is there etiquette for that? Somehow I get the feeling you're not supposed to call someone up and just ask.

Also, I'm not entirely sure what's a secret organization and what's public, at this point. Is S.H.I.E.L.D. public or private? Avengers? New Avengers? Dark Avengers? Secret Avengers? West Coast Avengers? Everything's a friggin' team or acronym, whether they're good guys or bad guys--H.A.M.M.E.R, A.I.M., Hydra...it's worse than the military.

Oh, and I was going blind for awhile, before I was deaf. Hawkguy cannot catch a break.

I guess the only good news is that I've reconsidered the relative coolness of Hawkeye as a codename.

I'm beginning to see a trend in my dreams, and that trend appears to be Tony Stark Almost Dying. I suppose it's a good thing that I'm not human in them, otherwise I'd likely have suffered several heart attacks. I don't know how Pepper does it, really.

Well, it started again. The new batch of dreams. I'm glad that dream-me is getting used to modern times. The list I keep is pretty hilarious. That's pretty much where the hilarity ends, though. I think I'd almost take alien invasions and Nazis over whatever weird espionage thing I'm likely about to get involved in.

But, hey, I got a new suit. I opened up my closet and next to my other one, there it was. It's not as spangly, decked out with the SHIELD logo. It's pretty snazzy.

I should have known it wasn't going to last. I mean, it's me, I always draw the short end of the straw. I mean, I understand why he had to go, but still. I thought this would last longer. And to make matters worse, I'll still see him in my dreams.

The Frost Academy will be celebrating its first graduating class in just a few short weeks. Five exceptionally gifted young men and women, off to grab their own piece of the world, if they can. And of course they can, because we've given them every tool they need to not only succeed, but astonish.

Which means, of course, that we'll have five new slots for first years in another few months. Most of them are already taken, but I've got two open. If you are the parent of a gifted child and you're finding educating them to be an exercise in frustration, by all means, schedule an appointment. It's a bit late in the year to have applied to a school like mine, but as I've got the slots open, I may as well fill them at the last minute.

I've got work to do. Have to figure out how to make some of the things from my Dreams a reality.
