I ...really have no idea what I'm missing back in California, but I hope that everyone's okay. Mom and I are starting our road trip back from Austin Monday morning. So the break's been pretty free of carnivorous Christmas wreaths.

Does anyone want to help me eat the cookies Grandma's sending home with me? There's two huge boxes of them, and there's absolutely no way I can eat all of them before they go bad. One is sugar cookies, and the other is full of gingerbread people. I've already had to wrestle that one back away from one of my little cousins. Grandma doesn't make them that often, so they're pretty much worth their weight in gold around here.

I wish I was going to be there with you at midnight. Next year, come to Texas with me? Or I can spend the first half of the break there and the second half at home.

Sea Vegetable Conspiracy, yeah that's our current band name, is playing at, [name of club], tonight at nine. I know it's short notice, but we just got the job yesterday cause the band that was gonna be playing dropped out. So come check us out if you're free tonight.

I may be a bit biased but I fully believe that my niece is the most beautiful thing on this planet! She is just too perfect in every way.

I will also start working with a new family very soon which I'm very excited for. I've gotten to spend some time with the kids already and they're wonderful. It'll be nice to be doing a job I love again.

My first New Year's Eve away from New York City. It's kind of weird, not seeing drunks stumbling around at only 10am with their glittery hats and noisemakers.

My NYE so far has been spent binge watching Ghost Adventures. Because nothing says ringing in the new year like three guys in night vision yelling "BRO" every thirty seconds!

Hard to believe that it's nearly 2017. I'm not sure where the year went.

I wish everyone a happy and safe New Year. Here's hoping 2017 is a lot better than 2016. I know I'm starting my year off with a positive attitude since I know my future's so bright I gotta wear shades.

I can honestly say this New Year's Eve is the best I've had in years regardless of the weather or anything else.

I am a lucky man.
