It's that time of year again. Where I take unsuspecting people to rough it. I need four people to join me in the wilderness for four days, with nothing but the packs on our backs.

My car broke down earlier this week, and it has been a very unfortunate state of affairs since. Taxis are quite expensive. I am hoping for only a day or two more of this before getting it back.

I do not know about all these things going on, and how safe it is or isn't, but my job seems to think that it isn't a state of emergency enough to close for the time being.

I expect if anyone needed insurance of any kind, it would be now.

All work and no play makes Penelope a something something. Anyone want to go out for drinks tonight? Figured a lot of people on here could use a night to relax and recharge, so let's all go out and have a couple of drinks and do some dancing and pretend that our lives aren't busy and awful.

My flatmate, Annie and I are talking about going camping. Not being from the area though, I haven't got a fucking clue where the good campgrounds are. Anyone have any recommendations? She said not a lot of bugs. Don't know if that's something that can be controlled or not.

In other news, I’m rather enjoying playing with my staff. It’s long, and it’s very hard, and you should see what comes out of it!

I'm happy to announce that my new show surpassed the expected ratings...it's about God, not ratings, but it's still a good thing. Much of the credit goes to the wonderful Caprica Black, for presenting such a wonderful opportunity.

I have returned to the area after an unavoidable absence and have been informed by current coworkers that I am somehow lacking in a social capacity. Furthermore, before anyone insists that I was away without submitting a leave of absence in writing, I will explain that I required time for reviewing several aspects of my existence. That is all.

Joanna is arriving on June 18, and will be staying for six weeks. This is our trial run to see if we'll be compatible enough for her to come and live with me during the school year.

I suppose this is the part where I ask for everyone to "wish me luck." I know I'm going to need it. I sure hope I don't screw this up

Was at grocery store. Doing what normal people do at grocery stores--staring blankly at 300 kinds of cheese. Obviously. And then a teenaged girl comes up to me -- and I want to hope she recognized me from my Vlog but there's really no saying one way or the other -- and asks me if she can lick me.

LICK ME. WHAT EVEN. WHY. IS THAT A THING? A THING PEOPLE DO NOW?

I did what every respectable man might do in that situation, of course.

Grocery store security did have to stop me and remind me to pay on my way out, though. Sigh.

Are we certain there is no vodka served in the cafeteria? Even I could use a drink, after this.

My daughter has just informed me that she wants to come and live with me for the next school year. I'm not sure how she came to this decision or what prompted it, and I'm not sure how to respond. While it would be wonderful to have her around, I'm not sure that my profession goes well hand in hand with being a single father of a pre-teen.

The only thing I know for a fact is that it's incredibly difficult to say no to her.

The Chairman appears to approve of the house. He especially likes my bed and instead of sleeping curled up at the end, he sleeps stretched out on his back with his front paws over his head. Honestly, he's the strangest cat I've ever seen. He also appears to enjoy the window in the bedroom, because it looks out onto the beach and he can people watch all day.

I feel like I'm the only one who's not having strange dreams that are more like memories, or whatever they are. Makes me feel almost like an outcast. Or something.

I'm certain that by now we're all aware of the tragedy that occurred in Boston this week. My friends and I would like to help with the relief efforts, as much as we can from where we are.

I myself will be holding a bakesale on behalf of Les Amis, so if you have any goods you'd like to donate, please let me know! I'll be set up on campus during lunch and dinner all this week, if you'd like to sign up to sit at the table and help out, come out and donate baked goods, or donate money to the cause.

For those who want to donate directly, the city of Boston has set up a list of ways to help out!

As you can see, the city is already starting to rally together and build themselves back up, which is a wonderful thing to see.
