I've never understood the allure of celebrity gossip. Why are we, as a culture, so interested in what people get up-to in their private lives? Fabricated or real, all of this gossip, it's the business of the people involved and no one else's.

Okay, I give up. I think I need a vacation. Does anyone have suggestions? Some of you keep talking about going places and now I'm curious.

Apparently the departure of the swarm of fluffy creatures has convinced my son that he needs a dog.

E-mails, text messages, thumb-up icons, commentary on blog entries, crippled, butchered and slaughtered writing attempts - all of it virtual, none of it tangible.

Modern man is present everywhere and leaves not a single trace behind.

Letter writing is a dying art. It's a pity and a shame.

This network is interesting.

Simply not interesting for the reasons the rest of you lot probably find interesting.

I've grown accustomed to nightmares. But no amount of pain medication can mask the strain they put on fractured ribs.

I think I've run out of ways to clear my head. Or hit a wall of some kind.

Huh. Looks like I get the internet on this fancy new "smartphone". Still don't see what's so smart about it, though. And I still prefer my old Nokia, but somebody insists they don't make them anymore.

Yet another year where I have the vast majority of my staff out on out of town commission work. This at least is better then most in that at least we've been paid on time so far this year for said work, though if I have to hear how horrible it is to be short staffed again I am going to kindly point them to previous years. At least this year we have more people then we did last year making being short staffed at least tolerable as opposed to downright dreadful.

And also to anyone who drives at night, can you make sure your stereo system is down to a tolerable, heard only in your car level? I do not need my dog waking up in the middle of the night because someone decided they want the entire world to hear their music. Or at the very least nothing with such a beat that it nearly causes my windows to rattle while you drive by. And do I dare mention what that has to do to your hearing?

Absolutely amazing, the first commercial spacecraft has been launched this morning. It's going to take three days to reach the ISS and deliver supplies for NASA. It's amazing to think how far we've come and how far we will go if my dreams are any indication.

Mother's Day always reminds me of how thankful I am to have my daughter.

I find myself rather alarmed by what some see fit to post on the Internet.

This has really not been a good week.

Why do people insist on asking questions they don't actually want the answers to?

Why does every individual I encounter today insist on asking how I am? And why in bloody hell must I be honest with them?

I'm honestly terrified that this is my life and nothing more interesting is planned for me. That I'll get old and die wondering if I missed my destiny somewhere along the line because I wasn't paying attention.

God, I sound like a teenager on tumblr.

I woke up this morning with the strangest urge to go and visit England. Strange because I haven't wanted to go back to England since I first moved there, not to mention that I've been quiet content here in Southern California since I arrived. First time for everything, I suppose. Maybe it's all that talk I've been doing about the Olympics.

It seems I'm finally settled in.

I've always found it fascinating how much simpler one's life appears when packed inside several dozen boxes.
