I'm up extra early for church, and hungry. Thinking about stopping somewhere for a quick breakfast, but I have no idea what I want to eat. I thought I'd ask on here, see if anyone has any suggestions. Otherwise I'll end up at the same old haunts again.

So. New job. New starting points. Feels kinda like I'm starting over, or getting a fresh start. It feels kinda good, actually. I'm digging this working vibe.

I'm gonna need a whole lotta Red Bull.

So, I'm finally back from visiting my family. Didn't think that it would take this long...but things kept coming up.

I have an addiction to food reality shows.

I've been binge watching a lot of Bar Rescue, Restaurant Impossible, and Mystery Diner.

I'm not completely sure why I have this addiction, but it's just so much fun to watch. I love seeing people start to go a little crazy and I cringe when I see how nasty some of these places are. I really hope Granny's isn't like that at all because I don't think I could stand either of those men coming in here and yelling at me for things. But god, does it make good tv.

I can't wait until finals are done and it's SPRING BREAK. But for now, it's back to the college grind.

So, I took Nymeria for a walk along that one hiking trail where two different people have tried to shoot her before, no offense Katniss, and so, we're walking and I couldn't help but notice some pretty sickly looking squirrels and things. Maybe some of the vets here should check on that or something.

And yes, I have heard about the missing hikers. I figured that if someone tried to kidnap me, Nymeria would have just attacked them.

Is anyone hiring? I have customer service experience. I need a change of pace.

New clothes. New friends. It's a good week. Right? Oh and randomly getting into trouble with a friend, also a bonus.

Happy birthday to me! I've got the day off, so I'm spending the morening relaxing in bed.

I haven't said much lately, which is weird for me. I've been working a lot, which is good. Piers had an emergency and went home for a bit. I have the keys, and a dog to take care of. I'm pretty much staying at his place full time, which means a refrigerator full of rotten food when I get back. Yummy.

I'm wiped and it's only Tuesday!

Oh man. I don't know how many of you know, but there's talk of a bill being proposed in our fantastic state that would prohibit the use of Orca whales in shows and exhibitions. This is fantastic! Of course SeaWorld is less than happy, and the bill would still allow them to keep whales in aquariums [ :( ] but it's a great start! I'm actually so excited, guys.

Looks like I picked a bad time to come back. And I thought the fog in San Francisco was bad. I'll take that over this ash any day.

I missed my birthday this year. I mean, I knew it was happening, I just didn't do anything for it. Same with last year. I think I have a better excuse this year, though. Seems like we, as adults, don't do as much for birthdays as we did when we were kids. They don't seem as important as they used to be.

Or maybe it's just me.

Fuck. I forgot that my birthday is tomorrow. I'd wanted to do something, but obviously can't with all the shit that's going on outside. Oh well, I've got Billy here at my place, so at least I won't be alone. I'm gonna miss not having a cake though. Priorities, right?

Oh and I keep forgetting. Next Friday night, as long as this is over, some of my pieces are gonna be featured in an art exhibit at [Name of gallery] in Irvine. I'd love for anyone who can, to come. Afterwards there's gonna be a party and While anyone can come, I'll be texting a few specific people.

I had the strangest dreams. My father and I lived in the woods. A little like here but there we were far aways and I only had books for company. I learned to hunts and to fights.

Not gonna lie, ah love my friends. Ah've certainly got the best of em. Anytime ah need to hit something, ah just call one up and BAM, fight night.

This week's a good week.

I'm worried. My father wants to meet me for dinner.

In two days my daughter Christina will be 3 months old. 3 months old! I still feel like I'm not sleeping, like I'm struggling to do anything besides care for her. Laundry is piling up, dishes, cleaning... though my amazing roommate is absolutely wonderful and helps with everything!

I haven't seen my friends as much as I used to. I feel isolated. I miss my old life. And you have no idea how much guilt that brings up in me, just thinking it.

It has occurred to me that with school and work, I've neglected to check in here in quite some time. Because, I'm sure a lot of you weren't here when I last posted, I'll introduce myself again. I'm James Carstairs, but everyone calls me Jem. I'm currently attending UCI, studying Music and I work in an antiques store in Irvine. I also have a cat, called Church. I suppose that's all.

Oh my gosh. My first real swim meet is next weekend, and one of the girls who usually does the relay is getting her wisdom teeth removed. So I get to be on the relay! I'm so excited!

Except I've got a recital the same day. And I don't want to have to choose between the two, and daddy will flip if I don't go to the recital. But swim meet! I think maybe I should be able to do one and then race to the other. >___>

I'm gonna try to.

I think it's probably time to get out of my house again.

So far this place is pretty interesting. I kind of forgot that fact. New York is such a different place. But I'm glad to be home

So I haven't really been in the best Christmas spirit lately. Not only is this my first Christmas without my mom, but it's also real close to the anniversary of when she died. Like all the other holidays this year were hard, especially Mother's Day, but this one just feels worse. I had thought Christmas was going to be different. I was gonna give Alyssa a promise ring cause I thought we were in it for the long run. Ijust had other plans, which would have made it not so bad. I really appreciate The Starks taking me in, but I just thought things were gonna be different by this time.

The play went amazingly, and I'm sort of sad that it's over. It's always this huge rush to get to opening night, and I feel weirdly empty now that we're done.

I'm going to go through withdrawals until the spring play.

I fell asleep with Christina on my chest and we slept for four hours. When I woke up, I was a bit of a mess. I'd leaked all over and my boobs were hard as rocks. God, Engorgement is a bitch

I had these dreams about such really dark times. It was before I met Oliver the battle at Hogwarts, before Fred when the Ministry was out to get Harry Potter. Really dark. Curfews and everything. I just kept my head down. My father was half, and my mother pure, so I was safe. But I didn't like what was going on at all. And I spent a lot of time with Fred and George, so.

God, this post just made me really sad. I'd better post it before I start crying. Too late. :(

I like how dream me applies herself. I think I got sick when I woke up, but I understand it. I understand why it's necessary to see those things.

I need to be her.

Somebody warned me about the crazy stupid dreams that happened here. I believed them. You have to believe in weird things when you have a guardian angel, after all. That just makes sense.

I didn't think I'd get any, though, because I don't really live here yet. I guess a visitor's pass is all you need to dream about strange childhoods in padded rooms with white walls. I think it's time for more pancakes.

Yeah, I'm not sure why Americans are so crazy for Black Friday. One of the girls made me go with her promising I would love it... Didn't happen. It's stupid. I got pushed around and ran into for what? A few things.

I'm not sure why people find this fun or is it just me?

Planning weddings is hard. I mean half of this stuff, I just don't care about. But it has to be done. Why are there like a million shades of white? When did that become a thing?

Is it thanksgiving yet? I just want to stuff my face full of food and then sleep for the rest of the day.

No one ever responded to the fliers I put up, so... I guess he's mine now!

I've named him Hector. I think that's a good, solid name for a cat.

Sometimes you just know how the story ends, you know? Like it's no big secret and it's like why bother with the in between. Whether it's a book or dreams or just your life.

I am finding I want to know how all these damn dreams end instead of just dreaming over and over again of the same helpless garbage. I swear even when I am awake the phrase, "May the odds be ever in your favor" is haunting me. It's like every where.

I can talk again. Who missed me? i also have a shoot for Thursday and Friday.

So guess who doesn't get Halloween off? Apparently one too many requested the day off for partying and fun. Unlucky me gets to go in and serve coffee and pastries to the crazy masses.

I've finally had some dreams like the ones that I've seen people talking about, I think.

I remember correctly, it felt like I was back in the war. I met a fellow soldier named Finn Macauley...a real newbie who was in awe of the captain. Maybe it would have been amusing, if we weren't in the middle of a war-zone. Although, the enemies were...different. They didn't exactly die when they were shot, not right away. Some of them mutated into some pretty weird shit...

I think my PTSD is mixing with whatever I end up watching on TV. That's possible, right?

Waking up in a cold sweat with tears streaming down my face wasn't what I had planned for this morning. Fuck these dreams. This is not okay and I wish they wouldn't toy with your emotions.

College was supposed to be fun. My roommate hates me and maybe stole my iPod. Or her boyfriend. And the school wants me to pay to move.

I'm at the library for a few hours. If anyone is feeling kind maybe I can bribe you into bringing me a decent cup of coffee.

It's Saturday and I have nothing to do but sleep in, but I don't really want to.
