New Horizons has completed the most distant flyby of any celestial object and is beginning to send data. It might be awhile before we get images comparable to the Pluto images from a few years ago.

But it's exciting.

Alice’s mom was... Less than thrilled I showed up at her party with neither Alice or Kurt with me. Pretty sure my invitation didn’t say anything about “MUST bring my daughter and grandson to get in”. ...Of course telling her where Alice was probably didn’t really help much. My best friend is a grown woman, she can decide whose party to go to or not. I can’t tell her what to do. Other than bring me back a plate because I miss Mom’s New Years’ dishes.

Has anyone made any New Years resolutions yet? What are they? Mine is to practice more. Practice my dancing and singing more, practice volleyball and basketball so my skills don’t rust now that I’m not on a team. Practice fighting the way I do in my dreams. Practice not burning food when I try to cook. Just... pick one thing a day and spend some time just practicing.

If you've ever wondered if you should get a champagne gun; do it. I'm fairly certain that was the most fun I've had on New Year's Eve. They will definitely be used again in the near future. I'm not sure when, but they will. And I'll be completely honest, I had absolutely no qualms about drenching my husband with an entire bottle of champagne.
