So, you going to Lydia's party?

Why do people who have money think that they can have whatever they bloody want at their parties? A client I'm working with right now requested to have netting put over their backyard, where the party is being held, and have real bats flying around. I told them that I didn't think that was possible and they got upset. Honestly, I'm a party planner; I don't work miracles.

Did you know they made a movie out of the HAUNTED MANSION ride at Disneyland? I just found out about this! I mean, I know the Pirates of the Caribbean was a big hit, but I had no idea there was a Haunted Mansion ride. I remember watching that special on television that showed how they made the Haunted Mansion with the mirrors and stuff? Like, a bajillion years ago. I'd like to go some day and ride the ride.

Has anyone seen the Haunted Mansion movie??

There's a costume contest at the office, but I'm not sure I'm going to be participating this year. I've been told that I'm not allowed to wear my suit. To be fair, I understand how someone might assume I'd just put on my Iron Man suit and win all of the competitions, but that seems a little both unfair and lazy.

I'm waiting for inspiration to strike. Perhaps I'll get a costume this year after all.

I made these adorable Halloween cookies, and I think I've eaten my weight in them. (Okay, not really. But I've had five of them so far. I'm debating a sixth.) They'll be available in the bakery starting on Monday.

Does anyone else have a favorite Halloween confection or treat? I'm always looking to add to our repertoire. And Thanksgiving is right around the corner! We do make pies! Put in your orders early!

Anyone else dress up their pets for Halloween? Usually I think it's kind of stupid, but I just saw this and can't help but think that Fleetfoot would look good as a unicorn. Cel, what do you think?

The idea of the lottery hitting a literal billion dollars is insane. Shouldn’t there be some sort of cap on how much it can go up to, and then after that… put the money into funding something like education, feeding poor kids, fixing the roads… And just restart it over again? That’s so much money that could help so many people. Then again we’re dealing with a government that is bankrupting itself to keep rich people richer than they’ll ever need to be, so what am I expecting? They don't exactly know how to spend their money in any way that makes actual sense.

Animatronic dragon skeletons have joined our posable skeleton on the balcony. Nico does Halloween the way most people do Christmas. He’s also named them, but I really can’t remember all four of them. I’m almost curious what kind of decorating he plans on doing when we’re both finished with school and get a house one day.

I think he’s already got our dogs’ costumes planned out this year, but I keep sending him pictures I’ve found online. I can’t believe that this got vetoed.
