So hello there! I've spoken to a few of you on this forum, but I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Newton Scamander, but most people simply call me Newt. I work just next door at the Aquarium of the Pacific, in Long Beach. I also like to help out at the San Diego Zoo whenever I can. I'm working on a secondary doctorate in Marine Biology at UC Long Beach, so I'm here for a while.

I suppose that's about all I have to say? Other than to come down to the aquarium sometime and meet all our lovely friends there. We have otters, I think I told someone. And sharks, which are my favourites, if I absolutely had to choose a favourite.

I've never understood where the stigma about sharks comes from. From the movie Jaws, if I remember correctly. But take, for instance, the Shy Shark. This little fellow got his name because when he is nervous, he curls his tail up to cover his face. What a delightful creature!

Valentines Day is only three weeks away!!! We're having sales galore at Frisky Business in honour of this celebration of love. I highly recommend the edible body glitter and/or edible body paint. Lots of fun.

Apparently I was correct in thinking I couldn't hold off the dreams forever. It was not exactly as I expected it to be, however. I'd come expecting to find Katerina, but instead found Elena...one of the doppelgangers. Apparently she is not the first. Also apparent is that I am in the habit of approving kidnapping (or at least not voicing and disapproval?), but I suppose catching Katerina is different than a human. I smelled her neck and ripped her vervain necklace off. It was surprisingly creepy of me Only they had the human and not the vampire. There's a lot of detail in the middle that I doubt anyone wants to hear about. It's very messy and involves me killing someone In the end, I got impaled, which you'd think would kill a vampire, but apparently I got better. After my gray stage. How artistic of me. A pity about the suit, though. You'd think I'd learn to spend less on them after all these years. Alas.

It can be hard to find something to smile about. With the dreams and lately with the news too. Seeing all those women marching on the news did make me smile. And when I was watching the coverage of it, there was a woman with a sign that read "Super Callous Facist Racist Exta Bragga Docious". That actually made me laugh out loud. Hannibal might have thought it rude, but he'd think of Trump as rude too.

So, O.C., did anyone else see any good signs? On the news or in person?
