I really shouldn't check tumblr when I can't sleep. Because posts like that make me laugh way too hard for me to even think about sleeping for awhile. The picture is funny but the captions put it over the top for me. Although to be honest - I watch that show and would probably explain that picture the same way as the person who claims not to.

These Dreams may be making me feel like a boy detective again, but not even I can complain when they decide to give me gifts like this. Apparently the car of my Dreams comes in canary yellow. It's not a bent eight, but I think that it can blow off more machines than people expect in a quarter stretch.

So yes. I've been quiet here for a bit too long. But I have a good reason. My dad decided to fly out a week before father's day with no warning. Which prompted Uncle Paul to drive over. Which led to him playing tour guide for a week. I've seen more of this city this week than I have since I moved here. So I now know the best spot for Mexican food, where to avoid because people get murdered... Uncle Paul has a very interesting profession.

Dad is in town until Thursday, he finally told me last night he also has some clients to visit. But I finally was able to get back to my computer. So yes. I'm not dead. Just slightly sunburnt. Someone stole my hat.

A friend mentioned that this was a good place for someone new to the area in terms of meeting people and learning about the area. So hello. I'm Esmeralda.

So it seems I was wrong about the dreams. I am secure enough to admit it. I'll refrain from complaining, though - my latest gift from my wayward memories was paint and canvas. I hadn't known I enjoyed painting, but I find it soothing. perhaps I can make a few things to decorate the walls of the shelter.

Even though I have the art talent of a three year old, this seems like something I'd want to try for fun!

Mom and Dad have bought their tickets and will be here in just over a month. I've missed them since moving out here and mom is really excited to go to the beach.

Does anyone have any recommendations for places they should see?

Father's Day wasn't completely unbearable. I thank the wine for that. But it made mother happy and I suppose that counts for something.

Laurel and Madsion were so excited to give their dad his presents. So much so they were up before dawn, the little terrors.

What do you do when you make bad choices? Make more of them!

I like how dream me handles grief. She's decided to go drag her friend back from the afterlife, because that's always a good idea.

Can't really blame her, I'd give anything to see Gabrielle right now.

I'm kinda gettin' tired of all these reboots and sequels coming out in theaters. TMNT, Now You See Me 2, Independence Day, Tarzan, Ghostbusters, The Purge Election Year (seriously, I lost count of how many of those films exist).

I think I'm going to go see Central Intelligence so I can laugh my ass off in a movie that doesn't feel like Hollywood is throwing up on me and expects me to like it.

I can take killing an Archdemon off of my bucket list. Nasty huge bugger.

I feel like I owe certain parties a great debt. For the whole surviving thing.

But the day is saved, the Blight is stopped, and it was a rather nice party. Even if my mind was elsewhere at the time

I've decided after much thought and consulting with friends and family, that I'm going to be leaving my teaching position at UC Irvine. I've enjoyed teaching over the years, and will miss it, but since the dreams have gifted me with incredible skills and knowledge that are constantly pulling my attention away I thought it best to now switch gears.

Stark Industries will be my new home now, and I hope that my contributions will help not just in terms of advancing the technological wonders they produce, but also enriching the lives of people who could most benefit from it.
