My air conditioning broke.

It's days like this I'm ashamed to be British.

These new Hunger Games trailers caught my eye immediately, though I had not seen the first movie. The drab colors of the 'normal' people that instantly read as oppressed, the fact that the 'guards' all seemed to be wearing white - which stands out against the drabness and is also a mark of purity in some cultures. Ironic.

These other people who are so obviously more important than the rest, you can tell that simply by the bright colors they wear and surround themselves with. There is a clear divide there. One set of people dressed in rich, vibrant hues, heavily ornamented with ridiculously painted faces in some scenes. Cool, drab hues playing off of rich, warm ones. The colors are immediately at war.

I don't really know the story, but the trailer already says so many things about the setting of it. I think I may need to get my hands on that first movie.

Seems like a good day to drink.

Haven't had a whole lot of luck hoofin' it around and asking for applications. Does anyone on this network know of a place that's hiring? I've got plenty of experience bar tending and waitressing.

Not sure if you've all seen the ads but Kaffa! is popping out a new coffee. So today and tomorrow between 5pm to 7pm get a few small hot or iced coffee. Only the cinnamon apple coffee though.

I found out the name of my aunt's boyfriend. It is John Gilbert.

Spike sure needed to tone it down a little. Who knew that a dragon's size was in direct relation to their treasure pile? Also, I'm a terrible actress. And "Hearth's Warming Eve" is nowhere near as awesome as Christmas.

You know.. The TARDIS club is fun and everything, but sometimes it seems like it's too much Earl Grey tea and not enough Long Island iced tea.

We should have a TARDIS party.

I never thought I'd say this, but I think I need a break from following politics. Just a little one.

I had another dream last night. This time The Doctor and I got stuck in 1969 because of these creatures called Weeping Angels that looked like statues of angels, but if they touched you then they'd send you back in time. So we got stuck without the TARDIS and I had to work to support The Doctor. Eventually we got the TARDIS back and got out of there, but those Weeping Angels were really creepy.

So, I want to do something on my next day off. Something besides hanging around my apartment and sleeping. I don't want to waste the rest of the summer just because I worked two twelve hour shifts back to back or something.

So I managed to get a little part-time job doing tech-support in an internet cafe. This is all good.

The bad is that the new delivery guy keeps trying to hit on me. His name's Mustafa, I've dealt with him 3 times and he's nice and all, but this last time he decided he wanted to take me on a holiday to see his family for Christmas in Somalia! I mean, wtf? Literally, we have not been in each other's company for anywhere close to an hour and all of a sudden this?! And it's that awkward flirting where I can't quite understand him properly because his accent's so thick that I just nod and say yes to a fair amount of what he's saying. Talk about a fast mover!

Just...thought I should put it out there that "I'm the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition," is possibly the most effective pick up line slash aphrodisiac ever.

I've been back in town now for almost two months and aside from working and catching up with my family, I haven't done much else. I was only gone for six years, but it feels like so much has changed and I'm not entirely sure what to do with my free time.
