What can I do with these girls to keep them entertained? I don't want to wind up with them hopped up on sugar and me tied to a chair with a jump rope.

We're here on extended vacation so I've been enrolled at school - it's going to be strange only having a few weeks of it before the holidays but I'm sure I will cope :D

I've just had the strangest dream last night.

I dreamed I was an angel. Not just any angel, but a guardian at the gates of Eden. I was there when poor Adam and Eve were forced out, as a matter of fact. I gave them my flaming sword so they could protect themselves and make a fire and whatnot.

Of course, God did ask about that. Where my sword had gone, I mean. I said, "I had it just a moment ago, I must have put it down somewhere. Forget my own head next."

I lied to God. To God! I suppose it was for a good cause and all, really. Surely He'd see that?

Anyway, it was all very strange indeed. And a bit like my husband's dream, about him being the serpent in Eden, come to think of it. But from the opposite end.

Potential into darkness spoilers below

I think I've embarrassed myself more in these last few weeks than in my entire life. I'm half-American, you'd think my sense of shame wouldn't be quite so strong.

People here are just so kind! It's wonderful to see us all support each other, when we're going through times of trouble. I knew I had the support and care of my friends, but to have perfect strangers contact me to say they know what I'm going through, and they're here to help? Well that's just wonderful.

So thank you, Valarnet. For being wonderful people.

Gallifrey is a strange, strange planet.

I am... unsure if staying there was a good idea. The Time Lords are so unlike the Doctor, so... dull, and set in their ancient ways.

So. Daleks and Cybermen. Fascinating, really, even if the Kaleds were a little... well, I suppose 'interesting' works. Davros himself was quite a piece of work too.

I wonder what else these dreams have to offer.

We're going to have a barbecue next Sunday, to hopefully celebrate not being invaded by spice producing sandworms or giant marshmallow men. If you have any specific food allergies or needs that require accommodation, please let us know ahead of time. If we are invaded by marshmallow men there will be smores. We'll be kicking things off around noon, and probably ending around five. There will be children at the party, so please bring your grown up manners.

Watching the Eurovision Song Contest and it is strange to see my country and not be there. They are doing a wonderful job of hosting though. It is presented beautifully.

Thanks to Gavroche Thénardier's blue raspberry cupcakes, we won the cupcake baking contest we entered today! The judges said they'd never seen anything like it and were intrigued by the lime green frosting. Gav, you're seriously a freakin' genius!
