Happy Valentine's Day. Don't really get this holiday. All the pink. Bleh. But chocolate is good. Did our photoshoots for the holiday back before Christmas, so I'm over it. We're shooting summer ads now.

Taking the day off of work to spend it with my man. I've never done that before. Since I'm technically self-employed, does this count as skivving off or playing hookey? Hmm.

So, I had some pretty strange dreams last night. Anyone else, uh, live a second life in their dreams? Like, a full one? I dreamed seventeen years last night.

I hope everyone's having a great Valentine's Day. My friends at school have been all over the place with cookies, candy, balloons, flowers... It's ridiculous. I think they bought out a party shop.

All the red and pink today on campus. And my Sorority house. They've gone absolutely insane, I tell you. I don't remember this holiday being this crazy when I was growing up. I've gotten four calls and three texts, though, from my nieces and nephews, thanking me for the cards. Thank goodness I sent them all out early.

Happy Valentine's Day.

My dopey husband did good this year. I'm thinking he went extra big this year because he thought he had to make up for knocking me up. Good move, Potter. I'm almost ready to forgive you. Change the diapers for the next month and we might be getting somewhere.

Obviously, I didn't grow up under a rock in a country that celebrates Valentine's Day or anything like that, but I really fail to understand the point of it. Do people really feel this need to set a single day aside to let their loved ones know they love them? Does the purchase of mass quantities of chocolate, furry plush animals and those tiny printed cards really represent the love that you might feel for someone? Is this meant to be a day during which presents and expensive meals are exchanged for wild, riotous sex, performed in cheap lingerie that no one will wear again after it's over? Are we really that sort of a society to push that kind of thing above all else?

I don't mean to condemn Valentine's Day by any means, if it makes others happy, and I don't mean to sound as if i'm judging. I don't mean to begrudge anyone their happiness, but I simply...fail to understand it, in the same way I fail to understand a lot of things: professional sports, corporate bookstores, Olive Garden, the way that miniature candy bars are considered the 'fun' size...


I digress, but really, I'm confused.

Happy Valentines Day, Orange County!

I love the airport on Valentines, almost everybody is happy and smiley and its lovely to watch some of the reunions taking place in the arrivals lounge.

Makes me a bit sad to leave, though I did get a red heart shaped lollypop from a sweet little girl who was waiting with her mom for her daddys flight to get in. Apparently I looked lonely.

So how is everybody else's day going?

I have never understood the correlation of an early Christian martyr to the faith and romantic gestures.

But I approve of chocolate in large quantities.

Finally, able to use the internet that my neighbor offers so long as I clean her laundry for her at the end of each week. Borrowed a laptop from the library.

In light of the holiday, how man times do I have to tell my work crush that I don't want jewellery. I'm just going to pawn it anyway. I mean, I get the thought but. My father needs the money more than I need jewels.

I just want him happy and healthy. No sparkle could ever surpass the joy that brings me. He is everything to me.

There's a jackass singing to his girlfriend. He's standing outside, and her place is right next door.

I am trying to enjoy a beer on the balcony.

It would appear that Valentine's Day is in full swing. I saw a great many flowers, balloons and chocolates going in and out of City Hall today. Does a heart good to see it.

I hope everyone has a very enjoyable one.

There should be some sort of opposite Valentine's Day where we tell people we hate how much we hate them and give them awful gifts like sweaters. I could get behind that.

As Valentines Day draws to a close, the best day of the year is coming soon. In a few hours, I will be heading to the 24 hour superstore to wait for midnight when the sales begin. Would anyone like to join me, make it a friendly competition?

Wow, so Valentine's Day stuff is everywhere. There's pink all over campus and balloons - even the canteen has heart shaped cookies and cakes. It's a little weird.

I did get given a really cute pink pen with feathers on it from this sweet girl who decided to give a gift to everybody in class who was single. So I guess that's a nice bonus ;)

I ate far too many cookies today.
