Okay, so after becoming a Shadowhunter over the weekend, I thought that was going to be the coolest thing to happen lately, but now I have a freaking Lightsaber in my hand! I was fully prepared to take on a couple droids with a Seraph Blade, but I can't pass up the chance to go full on Jedi! This is amazing!

Wait, so Elon Musk is really hosting SNL? When I first heard it I thought it was a joke, but it's actually true. I mean, why? What is the reason they thought that was a good idea? I'm wondering if this episode will be one of the least watched or if people will watch just to see if he sucks as much as they assume he will. I can already envision a lot of obvious cue card reading in this episode.

Three weeks in and I am glad I made the jump to a new firm.

Also, my kid is about to graduate kindergarten. How did that happen?

I don't know which of their classmates told my daughters you could explode peeps in the microwave, but our entire kitchen smells like burnt sugar now. ...At least they had the thought to put a plate under the peeps first, so that's less cleanup than it could have been, still not the way I wanted to start spring break.

I think maybe taking them to see the horses would be a good idea, before they go on search for more candy around the house to turn into science experiments.

Nico let me know he was expecting some packages soon, which. Normal. We both order a lot of stuff online, and he's an artist and always has a steady supply of sketchbooks and canvases so he doesn't run out. So I didn't really think anything of it when I saw the huge box on the porch today.

Until he opened it. And the entire thing is antique or reproduction cookbooks.

I'm not going to lie. I'm scared.

Sometimes I find myself stopping at thinking how bizarre it is to live in a place like The Institute. For anyone not familiar with it; it sometimes reminds me of dorms you sometimes see in British movies or tv shows. You know how all those old Universities have these big, old stone buildings as their dorms? Well it's kind of like that and considering only four of us live here, it feels even bigger sometimes. In my dream world, Institutes usually house a large number of Shadowhunters, but even in my dreams there aren't a lot of Shadowhunters that live in the New York Institute. It's also a little weird since I don't live there, in my dreams. I'm still at the Shadowhunter University, which is an even bigger and older and draftier version of old British dorms.

Speaking of which, I really hope I have another dream soon. I've said it before, but I really want to know if I survive the ascension and become a Shadowhunter. It's killing me, not knowing.

If you ever have the sudden thought in your head to tell the owner of a hairless cat that their baby looks like an uncooked chicken... don't. They really don't think it's as funny as you might have.

Does Hallmark make a card to apologize for this sort of thing?

Okay, so I'm curious what other people think about this. I was out earlier and overheard two girls having a conversation about relationships. Girl #1 asked girl #2 if she thought that if you're married and your friends are going to be staying at a hotel overnight if it was appropriate to stay with them. She said she didn't think it was and then started talking about how she didn't think it was right for someone in a relationship to hang out solo with a friend of the opposite sex.

The second part really kind of threw me cause Clary and I hang out solo all the time and as far as I know Izzy doesn't think it's wrong for us to do that. And I would trust Izzy to hang out with guy friends and not do anything. I mean, you have to trust your significant other whether you're just dating or married, right? If you trust them then there shouldn't be a problem with who they're friends with/hanging out with.

Any one else got an opinion? I'm curious what other people think.

Wow, how is January almost over???

My dreams are shit, which is common around here, just trying to survive not dying at the hands of another teenager while that's the whole point of being stuck in an Arena. I joined a group of total douche-bags, but I know it's only a matter of time before we all have to turn on each other. They're far more concerned with killing my district-mate, Katniss, which I don't really want to happen so I'm trying to subtly keep them from accomplishing that.

In other news, with Valentine's Day on the horizon feel free to stop by Mellarky for cakes, cupcakes, pies, chocolates, and basically anything you could want for your Valentine, Galentine, or to treat yourself.

I'm going to be doing those big chocolate hearts you break with a mallet for Valentine's Day weekend starting on Friday the 12th. See here for the Walmart version and I promise mine will be better, haha.

I just saw a commercial for what has got to be the strangest toy I have ever seen in my entire life; and there were some weird toys out even when I was a kid. This beats it though, no question. It was a flamingo toy that poops. And if I had to see it then so does everyone else. So here ya go. Be as traumatized as I am right now.

Well that was an interesting dream. Not only was I give water from the lake in Idris that causes hallucinations, but Clary and I got to witness a parabatai ceremony, which was pretty cool The coolest part though was, so the hallucination part was a test and since Clary and I passed it, it means that we're compatible to become parabatai ourselves, if I become a Shadowhunter. I'm not gonna lie, being Clary's parabatai would be the coolest thing. Especially if it happens here too. Of course all I have to do is survive the ascension and not die horribly when I try to become a Shadowhunter. Fingers crossed.

When you miss seeing your brother in law more than your brother...do you have a problem?

I'm taking orders for Thanksgiving pies and cake the first weekend in October, if you want to order one, figure out what kind you'd like soon.

I literally...just remembered today is my birthday.

So excited, I got a call from a band I auditioned for last weekend and they want me to join them as their singer. The band is so cool - they only perform songs by black artists and I've already started looking for some purple outfits to get my Prince on.

On the dream front basically had a big time skip to 10 years later and our high school reunion is taking place soon. The only good thing about that is that Liz is finally back in town now. I've also seemed to really perfect my palm reading for people at the bar and it's definitely a great side hustle. I feel like it's starting to bleed over into this world a little bit and I think my mom is eyeing me to help do some readings at the shop now.

Okay. My dreams are just ridiculous now. Scott and I apparently sit around, at school, in class, discussing his current predicament. Anyone, students and teachers alike, can hear us because we don't seem to make any effort to keep it under wraps. And no one questions a thing. Not even when the medics have a guy on a stretcher and he surges up screaming and I'm all 'this is good, you didn't kill him. Dead guys don't do that' and he's all 'Stiles. I did that.' And out teacher, who had just separated us for talking in class but didn't for one second question the nature of our conversation, didn't bat an eye even though he clearly heard us.

And then we talk about the fact dreams feel real, but they're just dreams. And this was inside my dream. And where I was previously an advocate for Scott playing it safe and not seeing the girl he likes, the second he suggests canceling his date with her I'm the one insisting that he 'can't just cancel' his life. Dream me is a hypocrite, and I don't know what to think about him.

Especially since I apparently don't bother to use the front door at Scott's. When I wanted to see him, I climbed up on the roof and climbed in his bedroom window. His mom almost attacked me with a baseball bat, and the first thing I said was "Do either of you even play baseball?" Like having a bat was the most unnatural thing in the world. Because having my best friend get bit and become a werewolf is completely normal, or something.

These dreams are just weird. But hey. Lydia (And Jackson and Danny and Allison) sat at the lunch table with me and Scott at school. Which was pretty cool. Because dream me has the biggest crush on Lydia.

Had another cycle of dreams and I honestly feel like I'm starting to get whiplash or something. My life seems to have more twists than an M. Night Shyamalan movie. Only you know, it's my life so... Or dream life anyway. Either way, I'm feeling more than a bit overwhelmed. I don't even want to go to sleep, because who even knows what's next at this point!

Wait, did Kanye West really announce he's running for president or was that a joke? Cause I really can't tell. Although, I'm guessing that everyone else is pretty much in the same boat.

I just want to know why now he wants an actual relationship that’s more than phone calls at Christmas and birthdays. And where the hell he gets off introducing himself to anyone as my dad. He’s not my dad. He lost that chance when he bailed on me and mom right after I was born leaving my aunt and uncle to help her out raising me while he was doing what the fuck ever in England and not giving two thoughts to his son and ex in New York. He’s not my DAD.

My DAD is Michael Wayland. The man who stepped up and married my mom and helped raise me. Who did everything he could to build a friendship with my aunt and uncle and to let me know that he wasn’t trying to replace ANYONE. Who actually started the thing of me calling Stephen at Christmas and his birthday. Don’t just show up in California out of nowhere claiming something you've never been. And sure as hell don’t show up at my job doing it.

Got invited to a pretty fun Pride celebration last night by a few guys I've done some modeling with here. That was a lot of fun and is getting me excited for the big Pride parade here soon. Definitely going to drag Helen out with me and maybe I'll ask my dad if I can bring some of the kiddos with.

Although, I do have to figure out some good makeup to cover up this rune that decided to appear on my skin after I dreamt about it. Why we have to put this rune on the back of our hand I will never understand, but it is what it is.

Nice to know that dream me is an artist too. And my best friend here was my dream best friend as well.

Well at least I finally know what I did after Clary took my sensor - I followed her to her apartment. Where I arrived just in time to get her out of the building before the cops showed up but not before she got attacked by a ravener demon. Which if she hadn’t run off like that I might have been able to protect her from but we’ll never know I guess. When she ran into it it was already half dead so it could be a lot worse but she still got poisoned and I don’t have anything with me to actually deal with that so I have to just try my best to treat her wounds. And then use my stele to draw a rune on her to hide her from other demons that might be in the area and then take her back to the Institute. I can practically hear the lecture already

Is there anything better than having a girlfriend who owns a bakery? No, I don't think there is. Not only do I get to taste test new things she's working on, but she brings home extras at night. It's a good thing I've been working out. Otherwise I'd probably have gained like fifty pounds by now.

Hey, I'm Clary. I just moved here. I've got to ask though...are vivid dreams, I mean like really vivid normal? It almost felt real, if that makes sense. Don't mind me, I probably sound crazy.

I feel like I woke up in one of Simon's movies.

I got my delivery this afternoon, one tried to steal from me! Quick reflexes kicked in and was able to get my bag of flour back. but I decided they must be hungry and thirsty so I put some food out on a tray and paper cups of water.

Big mistake. They have been chanting, banging on the door and the wall to get my attention for more. I gave in, went to put another tray out, nearly tripped over rocks and noticed the weeds that appeared outside the door. I'm assuming it's payment.

Max is going to love seeing them when he gets out of school.

So, there's nothing like dreaming about living in the 80's (this fashion) and an extremely attractive man shows up to be an assistant to your father and suddenly you're questioning your sexuality. Doesn't help that you're also flirting with some of the girls in the town. I really just want to shake the dream version of myself because he's a total idiot about all this, but I have to admit it's hilarious to watch some of the interactions knowing who I am now. Nothing like having your crush touch you and then you run away in terror.

It's interesting how in all of my dreams from The Shadowhunter Academy, we end up getting told some sort of story about past Shadowhunters and sure, that's more or less what happens in regular school, you learn stories from the past, but it's even more interesting here because practically everyone we learn about has some connection to my friends.

In one dream we learned about an ancestor of Jace's who was half warlock and he was expelled from the Academy. I also realized that if I ever decided I wanted a parabatai, it would be Clary. Of course I need to survive becoming a Shadowhunter first in order to even ask her. I also decided to write letters to Isabelle and Clary, wanting to know more about the things I couldn't remember.

Clary wrote back and we started exchanging letters regularly. Isabelle however, sent my letter back. Our next guest speaker after that was none other than The Inquisitor Robert Lightwood, Izzy and Alec's father. He came to talk about Valentine and their time at the Academy and how Valentine formed The Circle. Izzy ended up coming with him, but she wasn't happy about it at all and she didn't want to talk to me. In fact, she spent a lot of time flirting with Jon and George. Then out of the blue she says she wants to summon a demon, which I really didn't think was a good idea t all.

I wanted to tell Catarina and the others, but I also didn't want to get them in trouble. In the end, another student got there first, but it turned out the whole thing was a test to see how many of us were vulnerable to repeating something like with the Circle. Everyone failed, but me and Julie. Then after Izzy and her dad talked, which wasn't really the best of talks, me and Izzy talked and turns out she was flirting with Jon to make me jealous and she apologized for sending my letter back unopened. Things are looking better for us.


Now as for real world news, Rock Solid Panda have a show Saturday night at [name of club]. I'm really looking forward to it cause we haven't had a show in a while. We were supposed to have two in March and had to postpone them, this is one of the postponed shows actually. So come on out and see us.

I'm taking some notes about these dreams that everyone keeps having. What stages are there? I'm gathering that many people seem to have a different opinion on them or are experiencing them at different rates.

For example, I've only had one dream so far, but maybe some other people have them more often. I wonder if you can have a way to make the dreams come, you know?

Whatever it is that caused this to happen, I am not amused!

So I was out yesterday and I was driving back to the Institute when this guy on a motorcycle drove by me. The guy on the motorcycle was wearing a helmet that legit looked like he was wearing a giant stuffed panda head! Since I was behind him, I could only see the back and the ears so I wasn't able to see if it was just a regular helmet made to look like a panda head or if it was a legit stuffed panda head. I have so many questions and I don't think they'll ever be answered. Alright, that's no totally true since I did google panda motorcycle helmets, but having not seen the front of this guy's helmet, all I can picture is him wearing an actual panda costume head.

My dreams might be frustrating as hell at times but they do give me the best gifts. I woke up this morning to find my bike from them parked outside the Institute. I love my bike that I bought here but she can’t fly.

So moving across the country seemed like such a good idea at the time but I've got lost on campus twice and I have three classes to make up reading in because even though the class is similar they've covered different things.

My brain's fried.

So I finally got my dad's birthday present cleared through customs - because of course my dad would send something that had to go through customs like this - and got home to open it and find a life-size porcelain Bigfoot skeleton. I already know what I'm going to do with it too.

I'm pretty sure my new droid is a wanted criminal, but we made another friend Finn?! who was also a wanted criminal and stole my boss's junky old space ship to escape an attack from something called the First Order.

So now I'm a wanted criminal too apparently.

At least things are getting exciting!

You guys ever meet people from these weird dreams you have? I think I met someone from my dreams, but I also think it may have just been a fever dream. I also haven't seen him since, so...

So it finally happened, I got my podcast approved and it'll be airing on Spotify every Friday at 8pm and fingers crossed if I get enough listeners, reviews and well, subscriptions then maybe just maybe I can actually make money out of this.

Only time will tell, I guess.

It's either a giant coincidence that everyone who comes to speak at the Academy, in my dreams, is someone I know or I guess knew or it's just that there aren't that many Shadowhunters left. In my most recent one Jace came to help teach a class and of course everyone got all starstruck around him cause he's THE Jace Herondale. We ended up kind of helping each other out a little with some personal stuff. Also, it turns out that, in my dream world, it was a demon who was responsible for the Jack the Ripper murders. The Shadowhunters covered up the whole thing. Honestly, it makes complete sense.

Who would have thought gnomes would be so aggressive?

Also, I woke up this morning with a pain in my forehead, and when I peeled my hair back there was a birthmark. Not just any birthmark. Nooo. One in the shape of the... wait for it, the Big Dipper. Thank God I have enough hair to hide it or you know I could just wear the hat that also turned up.

Now Mabel calling me Dipper all makes sense.

Made it back to area in time for Halloween.

Also, it's always fun to surprise your husband who was clearly still sleeping when I started knocking on the door.

But I will certainly be celebrating at the club, tonight...but I won't be bartending. Just enjoying the simple life of being a co-owner. On a related note, I have no idea what Pandemonium has planned but I'm sure it will be a good time.
