Some how I was able to pull the lucky straw and get Christmas off. That is the best present anyone can give me. You wouldn't believe how busy emergency rooms can be on the holidays... That being said, I hope everyone enjoys their families, friends, and holidays.

I have completed all of my Christmas shopping.

I will not spend any more money until the new year.

We should probably announce this now. Frodo and I are having a baby!

I think we've reached that awkward in-between stage where people start to wonder, but are too afraid to ask.

I swam my first lap today without floaties! Has anyone else tried to learn a skill that they seemed to excel at in their dreams, but didn't know how to do in real life?

I honestly am at a loss for words. I've been completely besides myself for the last week while dealing with the loss of my ex-husband. His family flew in and I've been helping them as best I can with funeral arrangements. It's just.... a lot right now.

I know Election fatigue has really set in for a lot of you today, but just remember this is a celebration of what it means to live in this country. We are able to elect, able to dissent, able to assemble and able to choose.

The candidates I won't get into. But take the chance today to exercise one of our most basic rights as Americans. Please vote.

An official statement has already gone out through the company, but to remove any doubts:

Barbara Gordon was not involved in the murders of my parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne. I have no suspicions of her involvement, and she has not been asked to leave the board of Wayne Enterprises. There is freedom of the press and then there is defamation of character. I'm no lawyer, but I can say that none of Ms. Skeeter's claims about Ms. Gordon are true.

As the trial is ongoing, I will not be commenting further.

I still don't think any of this is very respectful.

I assume everyone is already aware Ms. Skeeter is a lying cun- ill-informed. I'd like to think our police force is slightly more competent than an idiot reporter. Maybe not too competent, though.

Barnegat Books is open again, by the way. Let me emphasize that the owner has been cleared of all charges. Hopefully that's good for business.

Perhaps it's a crude way to get the news out, but I'm so busy at work I really don't have the time to go around writing personal letters to everyone I know. Ben and I have decided to get a divorce. The separation was mutual and as amicable as can be expected. The house went on the market this week and we're hoping for a quick sell. I've moved into a unit at the Quail Meadows apartments next to the Hospial and I'm looking for a new home nearby. To also make things even more complicated for everyone I'll also be changing my name back to my maiden name which is Carlson.

For my part in this I don't need anyone's pity or condolences. I just want to put it behind me and move on with my life. I would appreciate everyone's cooperation in helping me to do just that.

I swear, if one more thing like this happens, I'm going to lose all faith in humanity.

These pathetic excuses for books shouldn't be so popular. That they have fanfiction that's being turned into published novels is just disturbing.

I swear somedays I feel like board meetings are neverending and then I realise they actually are.

I'm sure I was supposed to be cutting back the work hours to actually have a life...

I don't understand. I went to my bank and someone deposited a lot of money in there. Anonymously.

I think Raffles is starting to enjoy this. I've seen her curl up into a ball--presumably disguising herself as one of those things to lure them in--and then she springs and eviscerates them. Much more impressive than the mouse-hunting.

These things are real cute and all, but... there's so many. Seems like every time I blink there's a couple more!

...I think I might have overdone it on the caffeine a couple weeks ago. Wound up in the hospital with an overdose, dehydration, and apparently exhaustion. Not that this is news anymore, but it's the first time I've POSTED since then, so...that's what's been going on.

I've been given the go ahead to hop back into stuff at work full time, but they told me to cut down on the extra curriculars for a while. Which means I'm quitting baseball, and I've handed over a couple of the seminars and workshops I was conducting. Still leaves me a lot of stuff to do, but not quite AS much, meaning I'm probably a lot better off mentally. Hopefully.

How is everyone posting to this valarnet? Anything to know about besides the dead polar bear in the canyon or what?

I suggest the media viewing room for that kind of thing. It has a lock on the door, and film reels are far less sensitive to what gets rubbed up against them.
