I want to do something fun for labor day. Nik, Elijah, Finn, Freya, are you in? Maybe a BBQ and swimming? Damon, you in?

I have to say, the intense heatwave that was happening earlier this month reminded me of my home planet in my dreams. The twin suns in the star system were dying, thus increasing the temperature on Casti. I wish I could have seen my home world in a time before the twin stars began to die.

So I dunno about any of y'all but I ain't doin' much for Labor Day weekend. So if anyone doesn't have any place to go I figure I'll just do a big 'ole barbecue. Y'all are welcome to stop by. Been here long enough, might as well get to know some of you a bit better.

I must admit, every time September rolls around I get this need to organize and feel like I am missing something big - and then I realize it is because I've been so used to preparing for the courses I used to teach. I do miss it sometimes, and perhaps some day I will return to UC Irvine. But for now my current employment does keep me quite busy and to be honest I do not miss all the prep paperwork that went with setting up a class for the year.

I really feel like I need a vacation. Work has just been exhausting and I think I need a break to recharge. Anyone ever just go to the airport and buy a random plane ticket? I am so tempted to do something like that. Or maybe I will be slightly more responsible and see if there are any good deals online. I'm not really picky, but does anyone have a recommendation?
