Despite having lived in America for some time now, it never ceases to surprise me how seriously Americans take their various holidays. No sooner have we finished with Christmas, than Valentines decorations are ushered out in its place.

I am looking forward to the lull between Fourth of July and Halloween. At least there will be no gaudy decorations for a few months, then.

I really loathe having to go into electronics stores. First of all, they try to get me to buy the latest gaming system, which I have utterly no interest in whatsoever. Because I'm of that age, I suppose, where I'm meant to be interested in video games.

I only go in there for parts, honestly. No, I don't want the warranty, I'm going to take it apart anyway. No, I don't want this or that option and yes I absolutely promise this is what I want to buy, not whatever you're getting commission for this month. The OS I run probably isn't compatible with whatever you're trying to foist on me.

I'm this close to laminating my doctorate in Computer Science to keep in my wallet, so I can wave it at people when they try to convince me that I really honestly need this completely unnecessary accessory for my computer. I can't get two feet into the store without being swarmed by people in blue polos asking if I need help.

I don't. I really don't. Kindly sod off.

So this is where I go to talk about dreams, right? And talking about it is supposed to help maybe?

I've got nothing to complain about who I am in these dreams, because to be quite honest, I'm an adorable kid.

Cut for discussions of slavery and child abuse - still open to everyone )

Just woke up from a dream where we were being chased by wolves and since the snow had begun to melt in Narnia, the frozen river that we ran onto was as well. We wound up in the river, which was bloody freezing and for a moment we thought we'd lost Lucy. When I woke up, I was shivering. Felt like I had been doused in ice just like the river. It was rather unpleasant.

So I've been seeing a load of stuff about crazy dreams. Past lives, or some of that sort of rubbish. I never much bothered paying attention to anything on here until recently when my job became so soul rending I needed to reach out for friends, is that pathetic? Yeah, kind of is.

Is this something that happens to everyone? It seems like it from what I've been reading, but it sounds fuckin' mad to me. Any theories from those of us that, like me, still have a full grasp on reality? I personally can't decide if I believe what these people say, or if I'm just lucky I drink bottled water rather than anything from the tap.

Another dream another bad guy trying to kill me. So, I briefly saw Spider-man again as someone chased me down an alley. It's too much for my dream self and she decides to call the X-Men, but the moment they tell her to give up singing in order to join them she declines. I get where she's coming from, but seriously? Come on girl, you need a group to keep you safe and develop what powers you have.

But apparently I made an impression on some of them because this one member, Beast, showed up at my apartment telling me about a gig that was hiring and I ended up beating another girl to get it, which I totally knows how that girl. But of course this woman is a crazy villan named Enchantress and with the powers of X-Men, The Avengers, The Fantastic Four, and Spider-man we all end up defeating her and they help convince this agent to take me on.

What in the world is my dream world. I must admit it'd be pretty awesome to have all those superheroes show up for a show.

After a conversation recently with my Prodigal Brother I've decided to upgrade my living situation. This network has been quite useful in the past. I'm wondering if it can help me find a trustworthy real estate agent?

Daisy asked me for ketchup to dip her broccoli ("Little Trees") into tonight. She's turning into her mother more and more every day. As she grows I see it in her eyes. They're beautiful and dark, just like her mother's. They share the same laugh, even though the elder would likely take offense to being compared to such a high-pitched squeal of mirth.

David, on the other had, doesn't look like either of us. But he certainly acts like me. Perhaps he'll grow into it the older he gets, and start to look more like family.
