Three times now I've gone from adult, back to teenager and only two of those times occurred here. I'll admit, I do miss being an adult, but at the same time there are many things that I missed out on having grown up in Narnia instead of at home and being here feels like a second chance to experience those things that I missed out on.

Not to mention, being here gives me the opportunity to see what Ed would have been like had he been a girl.

The devices in this city are beyond incredible; I am quite taken with the large pictures that tell stories, I must admit. I think one would look quite well above the fireplace in my suite in Cair Paravel.

By the by, do any of the creatures here talk? I only ask because a handful of cats have been following me every time I leave the building, but none of them reply when I ask how they are. Not in English, at least.

[Quiet sounds of someone checking out all the drawers and cupboards in a room can be heard, and soft mutterings that can't quite be made out, and then the PDA is lifted up and examined]

And what manner of device is this, I wonder.

[The PDA is then tapped a few times and shook about, before being replaced on whatever surface it had been sitting on. The next words are quieter, but still quite distinct]

Are these school books? With my name on them?

...What in Aslan's name is going on?

no, that's the wrong word, because I just watched it on the television, so it's real, and Max saw it as well, so I didn't imagine it.

There is a film about Pete and Su and Lu and I. And Caspian. In Narnia. It's the queerest thing. And Trumpkin was in it and Reepicheep and Glenstorm and Jadis and even that squeaky little squirrel.

Wow. So today was my birthday. I don't know if it's my real birthday as in the day I was actually born or created or whatever you want to call it considering I was a lab experiment, but today is the day I chose as my birthday and have always celebrated it so I'm fifteen now. I'll be honest, I never actually thought I'd last this long. The Flock are the longest living experiment from The School so everyday I wake up expecting that I'll expire at any moment, but every year I think that maybe I won't be like those other experiments and I'll actually get to become an adult. And who knows, if I stay here then that chance could double cause there aren't any Erasers coming after me.

So, Ed, when should we celebrate our birthdays?

[There's a beep, as Susan hits a button on the side of her PDA with her thumb, unknowingly activating the voice mode as the guards hand it to her.]

What's this then? Excuse me, could you tell me where I am? [There's no response, and Susan sounds perplexed, as the guards turn their back on her and begin to lead her out the library.]

Can you hear me? I don't know where I am, or what this... [There's the sound of the PDa being waved in the air.] thing you gave me is.

Please. I'm supposed to be in America with my parents and my brother. They'll be worried if they can't find me...

[The guards make no sound, but there's soon a sound of door slamming as Susan is escorted out of the library.]

No, wait! You didn't answer me!

[Susan bangs on the door, but it doesn't open. She inhales, trying not to lose her cool as she walks down the steps and into the streets.]

Excuse me, miss can you help me? Miss?

[There's a frustrated sigh, as Susan gets no response.]

Can you understand me? Can you hear me? Miss?

How is it that I ruled an entire land as King for fifteen years, but I'm quite clueless when it comes to girls. I like Melinda, but I don't know the first thing about dating in this time. What do girls like?

Also, with my birthday approaching, I have been missing Susan and Lu even more. Of course Ed is here, but it's not quite the same with him living down the hall.

For the love of Aslan! A group of teenagers, probably around my age, thought it would be funny to let the horses out of their stalls. Not only that, but I was here while it happened. I came down to feed them and walked in on them laughing as the horses ran off. They didn't see me, however and then ran off themselves.

Charlie, Ed, can you come and help me round up the horses?

I didn't realise I had to put electricity into the wireless telephone, and then it stopped working! But I figured it out eventually.

Is there a good library here? Other than the one with the knights, I mean. I would quite like to read up on the past seventy years.

I have a few questions, and I hope it's alright to ask them here.

Is the date on this wireless telephone thing correct? Is it really 2011?

Where do I go to get my ration book? My wireless telephone says I have money in a bank account, which is very good because I don't have any food or clothes, other than my suit of armour.

I hate to ask, but could I borrow some clothes from someone until I get my ration book and money? I don't think the shopkeepers or bank clerks would appreciate my showing up in chainmail, but I have nothing else.
