My, my, I barely remember this old place, or how to use this ancient device. It seems to match what I do remember about it. I suppose it likes to find me when I'm nearly dead, except much more so this time. I appreciate the resuscitation. The library certainly looks familiar.

All right. I think I've just about figured out how this doohickey works. I'd wager it's a sort of portable communication device, like a combination of a telegraph and a telephone that runs on some sort of internal power source and sends messages without wires. It's pretty neat, I have to say.

Could someone please tell me where I am? It's just that I really have a war I'm needing to get back to and if the date on this gizmo is right, I've missed it by a good sixty-six years.
