I suppose it makes sense that the turn of the year is even on a different date than back on Caprica.  But why have the turn of the year be during the winter months?

I know the locals are really nice but some of them aren't very smart.

I have plans to go to my friend's house Monday after school for a project. I told my friend I don't eat much meat, and never any beef. She told her mom, who called me to make sure. Then she asked me if it would be okay if she fixed meatloaf for dinner that night. I told her if it was made out of turkey I'd eat it, but it was against my religion to eat beef. But that I'd eat all of my vegetables and other stuff. So then she said that she would just fix hamburgers, since she was sure I could eat those.

I think I might just invite my friend over here to work on our project, instead.
