You know, that money that they give you when you first arrive? It goes pretty fast. Faster than I expected it. I guess the value of things has definitely gone up over the last twenty or so years.

So, since I didn't wake up from this ~~nightmare~~ strange dream, what should I be looking for? I had just started my first year at the University of St. George. I'm guessing my transcripts didn't come with me, huh?

I'd forgotten the joy of parenthood that was the nights where both children are up crying all night. Wyatt was having bad dreams and Brie was... well, she was just being a contender for World's Unhappiest Baby.

I hope all of you are aware that events such as the one that occurred this weekend are entirely unacceptable. Despite the fact that many of us have been here for years, we are still rather unwelcome guests in Madison Valley and we cannot - I repeat, cannot cause destruction and chaos.

Miss Sage, you are not to blame for this. But I beg all of you, if you want our position here to remain as peaceful as it has, destruction like this weekend cannot be allowed to happen often. Or again.

Hello. I am Sage. I am in need of emergency care. I have documented and pinpointed where each injury is on a drawing with notes on whether or not sutures are necessary. Of all injures the worst is a broken scapula and a rib, I have multiple lacerations with glass. I did not account for bruised muscle or bone, though I am sure they are there too.

We do our best to help refugees in matters of guardianship, in working with the local schools and universities in figuring out placement and qualifications, and in other legal matters.

I arrived yesterday. I'm sorry for not introducing myself then but as I'm sure you can all understand, I had a bloody shock with it all.

I'm George Weasley. My brother Fred, you all know. Though I'm a lot older than he is. I can't believe I just typed that. Merlin, this is confusing as hell.

I have a wife and two kids. Should a beautiful woman named Angelina arrive, or a boy who looks just like me but with brown eyes or a girl with beautiful dark skin and brown eyes (she's the spitting image of her mother) arrive... let me know immediately.

Even knowing they are somehow okay and haven't realized I've gone... I worry.

Paige and I would like to announce the birth of our daughter and son, Amanda and Patrick Winterbourne-Cortez.

They were born this evening at around 10:00pm. Amanda weighed 5lbs, 3 oz and was sixteen inches long and Patrick weighed 5lbs, 5 oz and was eighteen inches long.

Both babies and mother are doing well.

My office has been in contact with the School Board of the Madison Consolidated schools, and for as long as it lasts, they have agreed to make travel through the portal an excused absence.

Of course, you must have a parent or guardian sign that you actually went through the Portal. This is not simply an excuse to skip school.

Why on earth are there so many different styles and designs of diapers? I understand the sizes, but I should think that the goal should be to get your child out of diapers instead of making sure they're wonderfully comfortable in them.

If they don't feel anything, then why should they bother to potty-train at all?

[Baby Checklist]

Decide whether or not it is positive or detrimental to have a child sleep in the same bed with its parents as an infant. There is research supporting both viewpoints.
1. If decision is to allow it, then crib will not be necessary, at least in the short term.
2. If decision is not to allow it, then two separate cribs, or twin cribs will be necessary.
  1. This is one option.
Babyproofing the house is unnecessary in the short term. The infants will not be able to walk unaided for at least eighteen months.
Nursery must be painted and decorated. I am fond of a design somewhat like this, without the hipster names.
Shopping List:
1. Diapers. Cloth or disposable?
2. Clothing. It is said that infants can go through at least three outfits a day, so we must plan accordingly.
3. Toys. Soft, with no parts that could detach and choke the child.
4. Nursing supplies.
5. Blankets and pillows. Hypoallergenic.
6. First aid supplies: diaper rash cream, other child-oriented necessities.

This list is woefully incomplete.

If there are those of you with more knowledge of child rearing than me would care to contribute, I would be eternally grateful.

Earlier in the month I was talking to someone and I was reminded how few connections some people feel here. The phrase has been used in a lot of places but I like the way Bram Stoker said it best: “But a stranger in a strange land, he is no one. Men know him not, and to know not is to care not for.”

I'm used to living without connections but that doesn't mean even I had them back in my world.

They do a good job here of making sure there's a community for everyone. But I know there are some people still searching for more.
