Apparently most students think that "borrowing" a pencil means "keeping" a pencil. I've lost a hundred pencils since the beginning of the school year.

Maybe I should take their phones in exchange for the pencil. Then they'd be sure to give it back.

My favorite thing about December is getting an advent calendar to count down to Christmas. It's not even so much that I am excited for Christmas, I just like having a little treat every day.

There are so many options though that it gets overwhelming to pick! I got a classic chocolate one, but was tempted by the tea ones and the cheese ones.

Aiya! I know that someone told my zhiji, my Lan Wangji, that introducing himself was a good thing. Unfortunately, this is all new to him. We're from Ancient China. About 1500 years in the past. Devices like this don't exist.

He also gets a bit overwhelmed with things. So, be gentle with him, please. He hasn't been in Madison Valley long enough for his English to be that well yet either. So gentle is good.

Last night was a doozy. If I hadn't pinched myself a hundred times already I'd think it was all a bad dream. One minute we fell asleep on the couch during Blooey, and the next thing I know we're waking up on a bench in town and being welcomed and given - I guess the welcome package?

Waking up this morning, I'm still here.
