I am not a huge fan of everything holiday, but the set-up at the brunch is exquisite and beautiful.

Would anyone be interested in starting a chess club?

I've spoken to several people that enjoy the game it might be something fun for all of us.

This place can die in a fire. With the noted exception of a handful of people, that is, because I do have a couple of y'all I actually enjoy having around. Sorry about the blood in the hallway, Johanna, I maybe punched a brick wall when I noticed our friend was gone.

The street has been closed off for the music festival. People have brought their blankets and claimed prime places by the stage. It's a lovely fall day, the weather's cool but not cold, and there's a lot of sunshine to make things that much more pleasant. Beth and her helpers have decorated the stage and the area around it with pumpkins and scarecrows and and autumn harvest theme. Food trucks line the street selling every conceivable cuisine.

If you haven't yet signed up to perform, you still can. The music will start at noon and will go until Midnight, come find a place and enjoy a beautiful day of music by the river!

As grateful as I am for the funds given to me upon arrival, I've gotten bored of the crossword puzzles in the local newspaper.

Which means I'm reaching out in order to secure a meaningful and highly-challenging job. The latter is very important considering the work I did prior to coming here. Both of the medical and protector variety.

Flowers at work, goodness me.

So far the Cajun Spaghetti has been the best hit on the new stuff. Only temporary, of course, and I'll be trying to do some more lunch menu items later this week. We'll see how it goes. I think there's a piece of pecan pie with my name on it though.

If you see a Cajun handcuffed to a tree in the middle of the park, he'll be fine, probably already freed himself. He deserved it. And yeah, totally my doing.

For all of you who attended the fair, it's interesting to note that amusement park rides are actually one of the least dangerous forms of recreation available to the public. Despite the common perception, the rides are actually quite safe. With only 2500 injuries reported annually in approximately 300 million rides, you have less than 1 in 100,000 chance of being injured by a ride at a carnival.

Compared to the 1 in 14053 chance of being involved in a fatal car accident, the 1 in 75,000 chance of being hit by a comet or asteroid, or the 96.4 in 100,000 chance of being injured by a toilet, you can see that it's quite clear there's very little danger.

Added to that the fact that 60% percent of the accidents that do occur are because of people who disobey the posted rules, and it seems that there's very little to worry about at all.

Definitely drank way too much cheap beer at the fair. Go me?
