Halloween is still foreign to me. Ancient China did not have Halloween. We had the Ghost Festival though that is not in October. Being here I have observed many American holidays that I am slowly getting used to.

Well, crap. I thought it was snow at first. It's not.

It's confectioner's sugar. It looks like snow. It's piling up like snow so my house and grounds look like a picturesque winter wonderland. But it's going to absolutely RUIN the filters for my salt water pool.

I think this means there's a trip in my future -- one of the transportation destinations is the city I'm from. Not literally the city I'm from, but this world's corresponding version.

Has anyone else gotten the urge to just clean up their place? An urge that seemed to have come completely out of nowhere. I plan to do my best to ignore it as it came far too suddenly to be normal. Not that there is much in this place that I haven't already cleaned.

I keep getting little ads in my mailbox for lawncare since Spring is just around the corner only I live in an apartment. And don't you know it, they called me too? Not sure if they think I'm just a big ol' liar or what, but they said they'd call me back after I 'thought about it' even after I explained I have no lawn to care for.

Maybe they're just a lonely bunch who need to talk or something

That's THE LAST time I donate blood at the hospital. I tried to give 'em five liters today and the nurses there ask too many stupid questions! "Whose blood is it?" "Where did you get it from?" "Why is it in a bucket?" Blah blah..

I swear every time we go on one of those trips we always lose a bunch of people when we get back. It's terribly rude of the Dome to give us nice things and then not-so-good ones. Alas, though, it is the way of this place.

But, on a good note, I got to go to work, and yes, I know, it's weird saying it but I do enjoy my job and they're terribly understanding and I was hired right back where I had been status-wise. The dead don't mind if I eat a sandwich while weighing their organs.

Just don't get leftovers and livers confused. ;)

Hello fellow Madisonites.

I have been working away, hard at work on Valentine's edition of Butterbeer and Firewhiskey, but also some lovely Valentine's day gifts.

The Butterbeer and Firewhiskey options will be either a hint of lovely dark chocolate or cinnamon. If you're adventurous, go for both.

As for the gifts. These are just small paired charms that will either glow or warm up when the person you love thinks about you. You can choose from a variety of jewelry or key chains to have the charms placed on. I can also do custom charms for a bit more.
