I spoke once of organizing a party of sorts. An evening of entertainment known as a murder mystery.

I know there was some interest at the time, but I thought I'd check with everyone once again. Put out a formal invitation, as it were. There's a lot to be planned, so an actual date is some time off yet but I was hoping anyone with an interest could spare an evening around the end of July?

The weather will, of course, be warm but I'll be sure there's conditioned air and refreshments.

While it seems that everyone is on the subject of gatherings:

I've recently come to learn about something called a murder mystery party. It seems to be something of a staged murder scene that participants are then challenged to solve, to bring the fictional murderer to justice, as it were. It seems to be a good bit of fun, and an excellent use of skills for both trained detectives, training detectives, and clever civilians.

I'd thought, perhaps, to organize one such dinner event.

I don't suppose there would be any interest?

It's called a threede movie. A moving picture, but with sound! And though you're watching in the dark, you wear dark glasses. Presumably to protect you from the pictures coming right off the screen toward you.

The longer that I find myself here, the more I find I miss my Violet.

I'd thought, perhaps, to replace her company as it seems I'll be stuck here for the foreseeable future, but it turns out that some are simply irreplaceable.

I do wonder how she might get on without me. It's nice to think she'd be taken in by someone who would care for her nearly as much as I do.

It's the strangest sensation to celebrate a new year.

Less than two months ago I saw the turn of the century, the year 1900. Now I've had the privilege of welcoming another, perhaps slightly less impressive year. I thought it might be a tad lonely, not knowing many people in this place, but I've found it to be rather comfortable.

I paid a visit to the local police station this morning, and was unceremoniously turned away. Because I'm a Canadian, it seems.

I suppose it's fair enough, but I have to admit I'm a bit let down.

In lieu of that, I'll have to find some other way to be of use here. It's been a nice holiday, but I'm quite ready to get back to work.
