Thanksgiving was a thing. It was, among others, a HUGE thing. Mercy had overseen food, given Clay the horde of turkeys to grill, and fry, while she had two in an oven roasting. She'd overdone the pies - pumpkin, apple, chocolate cream, various cream pies, pecan pies even a brownie pie. She had stuffing, dressing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes. If it was a food somewhere used in celebration of this holiday she'd had it out. The backyard tables were bursting with food, with more in the wings, and plenty to send people home with extras. She'd set up on big, long table to fit as many as possible into a traditional setting, but she'd also left tables strewn around if people wanted to sit on their own or with smaller groups. She did stand up at one point though when most people arrived.
"I want to let it be known I am Thankful for everyone for accepting me. For the Pack for having such big hearts. For the friends, I've made, and my perfect boyfriend although be wary he may hog your children all day, for the chances this town gives us. And. I'm thankful for Jaime, even if she decides every holiday needs a gothic touch. It makes life fun. So enjoy."
In fact, there were, courtesy of Jaime and Nico, skeleton turkeys dancing dances around the yard. From waltzes to jigs, they were seemingly enjoying themselves, and no not harming a soul, simply part of the decorations. They would even play with the children (don't worry, it's safe! as if the pack would let something unsafe here!) There were pumpkins and flowers garlanded about. It was beautiful, if non-traditional.
