Is there -

I mean -

Uh...

What I mean to say is that the bakery is having a special on my cheesebuns today, so you should come by and get some.

[Filtered against Katniss]

Is there someone I can talk to?

[Filtered to Alicia Florrick]

Miss Florrick? My name's Peeta Mellark, and I've spoken with you before. I...I'm not well. And I'm worried that I may be putting Katniss in danger. Could you...she can't stay with me. Not like this. I can't - I can't risk hurting her. And I don't know. I'd never do it on purpose. But...I can't - I mean, I'm not well.

Help me, please, someone

[Filtered to Katniss]

I think it would be safer better if you...found another place to stay for a few days. I couldn't bear to hurt you It would make things a lot safer for you be for the best.

I saw that you're on the guardian list and offered to help Marley. If she doesn't come stay with you, do you think maybe my sister and I could? We've been ducking authority figures since we arrived and I can't speak for Diana, but I know I'm tired of it. We're both teenagers, not really troublemakers unless someone else starts it. We were both really good students at home.

And uhm, I'm a witch. I don't use my magic on people unless thry're trying to hurt people I care about or innocent people.

Ok, so I gave it a try, but my foster parents and I don't really see eye to eye on.. well, on anything. However, they did say that they wouldn't fight me if I found another guardian among our own group that would be suitable. I think the dad is kind of afraid that if he fights me on it, someone scarier than him will step in.

I'm fifteen, almost sixteen and attend the high school. I like to sing and I just won the female lead in the school musical, so I'll probably be at school rehearsals and practicing with the male lead a lot for the next little while. I can try to get a part time job if that would help.

Edit: Looks like I have a new guardian. Thank you, Klaus.

Hey

I was referenced to you by Oh. I didn't ask her name someone who said you knew law and could provide services to us.

Peeta, I'm not - You do this.

Okay, I am trying to make up this pamphlet for newbie arrivals and have some questions for all of you.

What was the most helpful thing someone told you upon arrival?
What was the least helpful thing told to you?
What information would you have liked to have known upon arrival that you didn't find out until later on?

Answers, go!

I read back a bit that somebody posted a few weeks back about what the things are that we miss here the most.

I was thinking, it being November, and the month of Thanksgiving and all, that maybe we should tweak that a little, and think instead about the things here that we're most grateful for. There's got to be something we like about this place, no matter how little it is? A person we have here that we don't have back home. Something we don't have to face here...something that just brightens our day a little.

It's not been easy for any of us, being pulled out of our homes and brought to this place, but maybe by thinking of something good that's happened to us since we've been here, we can kind of pull together? Or maybe that's just sunny Summer thinking.

Anyway.

I'm grateful for Lily, and I love Hinkleburgers.

Attention: Refugees

Lissa, Georgia and I have taken your concerns into consideration and discussion. In response for a request of our intentions we're releasing a brief statement of issues we deemed important and will therefore address at the first Council meeting.

The issues follow as:
- Guardianship for those under 18
- The ban of magic
- Use of the hospital facilities
- New arrivals

1. Guardianship.
We propose that financially stable Refugees present become guardians for any new arrivals under 18 years of age. You'll also be given first priority if a member of your family arrives, financial status notwithstanding. In order for this to be effective we've determined that volunteers should step forward if you're willing and able to take on a child. You should tell us the age group you're comfortable with, if you're comfortable with magic users, and how many children you are able to care for. In addition, the children already present should be given a choice about coming under the guardianship of Refugees or staying with their assigned family.
2. Magic ban.
We're against the ban of magic as a whole and will appeal to the Council to remove it entirely.
3. The hospital.
We've agreed that our population should be permitted to use the hospital services, as the separation from hospital to clinic has split resources and left the city as a whole exposed to health concerns that effect us all, Refugee and local alike.
4. New arrivals.
Given the treatment by the city many of us receive upon arrival, we're requesting that one of our number be present during the initial welcoming phases with new arrivals. We need several volunteers to be on hand for this task as new arrivals appear in the city at any hour.

- Cesare Borgia, Lissa Dragomir, Georgia Mason

I heard on the police scanner that they caught the guy who beat up Fix. Arrested him.

I thought everyone should know that - the police did what they were supposed to do, even when it came to protecting one of us.

I don't know what's going on with this kid that Dresden brought home last night, but I'm of the opinion that we need to step up and make sure they don't make those mistakes before they even happen. We need to be proactive on this, instead of sitting back and letting them have the first move.

I think we need to...be more involved with the process of arrivals, too. We need to be more proactive on this, instead of sitting back and letting them have the first move.

Adaptive Immunities, the writings of Shaun Mason

Hello audience and fair-weather friends!

I don't actually like repeating myself. I only do it to annoy George and even then it loses its appeal when she reduces herself to eye rolling and physical abuse (don't you worry, I hit back). That said, there's a whole bunch of new people popping up--hello welcome to small town insanity I've got first class tickets on the crazytrain heading to crazytown--and there's some minor details I wanna air out for you. Mostly because it's easier this way and it'll save my sister a whole lot of effort explaining to you new comers.

George, myself, Daryl, Beth, Carol and Buffy are what amounts to walking corpses. Pretty neat, huh? Don't suck all the fun out of it though by making it more complicated than it actually is.

We're future zombies. All six of us. We're talking flesh eating undead that when you shoot us the first time we're going to get back up and require you to shoot us a second, third, and if you really suck at aiming, a fourth time before we stop moving. So the general advice is don't kill the walking biological weapons because it's going to end badly for everyone.

I don't know the sciencey terms Daryl, Beth, and Carol have for their particular zombie AIDs, but George, Buffy and I have a thing called Kellis-Amberlee. Basically what that means is that a filovirus is sitting in us, dormant, waiting for its chance to hip-check our brains out of control and make us start munching on neighbors and the neighbor's dogs and shit. There are a few ways for that to happen: we'll die, the disruption of our nervous system will cause the dormant virus to activate, or we'll come into contact with the live virus. The only way for that second option to happen is if George miraculously starts shedding eye goo, but since she's got zombie eyes that isn't happening. See her for details on Retinal KA. However, we'll also go into amplification--re: zombification--if we experience physical trauma.

In short, we're toxic and killing us, Daryl, Beth and Carol is a very bad idea. It's also a very bad idea to touch our blood or other bodily fluids at any time. All you need to become infected is by coming into contact with micron levels of our fluids that fit into a space smaller than this period .

Lastly, if we tell you to shoot us, you shoot us.

I don't know what kind of a delaying tactic this is supposed to be or who's responsible but I need to be in court in a few hours. In Chicago.

Making arguments about my residency status? Really bad idea. It's not like the press aren't going to love that, you do realize...

Why can't I place calls to Illinois? Something's wrong with my phone. Both my phones.
