We don't have 'Mother's Day, in my time, and looking back, I think it's a pity.  So many mothers in my time have to run a house hold on their own and with multiple children getting in the way, not even knowing if half of them will survive their fifth year or not, and then dealing with the brats as well as the good ones.

If my own mother was here, or heck, even my aunt, they would've definitely appreciated the brunch served today. Not the least because it's a meal neither of them had to cook or clean up after.

I found out about Easter. The premise of this holiday is strange, and a little surreal, but hey, it's a better reaction than having to constantly reassure people you're not a ghost or a ghoul.

Also the bunnies, I like bunnies.

THIS on the other hand...The fucking heck is this?!


I don't care if it's made from chocolate and decorative, it's still a means of execution where I'm from. Jewelry, I can understand, morbid as it is, I can see the reason and symbolism, but..can we not with the candy. If it was death by hanging, would it be a chocolate noose instead?

Why not just stick with the chocolate bunnies and  eggs?

In the weeks I've been here, it's never failed to amaze me what people are capable of when they put their talents towards good.

Like central heating in buildings. No more having to constantly tend to fires or wear bundles indoors to stay warm in such cold. The young people in the shelter don't have to keep loitering in shops to stay warm, so it's a relief to know they have a warm place where they can rest and feel safe.

To the people responsible for the creation of central heating, I don't know if they're still alive or not, but I wish them a peaceful life if that's the case, and a restful Afterlife if they are no longer with us.

Hello,

My name is Joshua, son of Joseph. I've been in this..in this strange world for eight days.

So, Bjorn, you were right, this is the future, but it is so far into the future for me that it might as well be another world. I've been learning about your form of currency, and what you call electricity. The Romans I am told had indoor, but it was only for the wealthy. It seems so common now, and in winter as well, how is it is to keep clean and warm here.

Also..coffee. in my own time, only parts of the market sell coffee, but here it is so common, and so many variations.

I would..if it's no trouble to anyone, I would appreciate a sort of guide in this place. I've been able to work some things, like the television and the stove, but in terms of customs..how things are done, and so forth, some extra help is needed.

Something I have been wondering for awhile. This..this festival called Christmas, with the figure called Santa Clause. Who is he? Is he a god in this place? Seems one of the most humane gods I've ever heard of-giving presents to children as a reward for being good, I could get behind a god like that, and I only worship the One.
