I understand everyone's excitement about the town barrier being down, I really do. It's not exactly a way home for many of you, but it must be nice to know you can venture out and explore beyond this town. I'm sorry we don't have more answers about what you will find out there.

Because we don't know so much, I urge you to be careful if you do venture outside of town. Please don't go off alone, take some means of communication with you, such as a cell phone. We don't know how far our network will extend and we want you to be able to call for help if you should need it.

We've managed to get by this far by all sticking together and we need to do that now more than ever. I know we won't get the answers some of you need about what's waiting outside the town line without exploring and I'm not telling anyone not to leave. I just want you all to be careful. We are all Storybrookers, no matter what realms we originally came here from. We're a family and I think it's more important now than ever that we remember that.

A few months ago I announced that there would -- for the first time -- be an election for the office of Mayor and Deputy Mayor. In that very same announcement I declared my intentions to run along with whoever else qualified. Shortly thereafter an announcement went out that Sheriff Swan would be retiring. Since then my office has been tirelessly working on getting everything prepared for the elections, which as of today, has an official date:

On Tuesday, March 1, 2016 everyone 16 and above can cast their votes at Town Hall.

All candidates have until the close of business on Friday, December 29th to official declare they will be running. This can be done in person or by delivering a signed letter to my office.

Qualifications to run can be found here and here. They are also posted just outside the entrance to Town Hall.

And on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 all candidates will gather on the stage in Town Hall and convince you all to vote for them. More information will be released after the holiday.

It is with a heavy heart, that after weeks of self reflection and discussions with those in my inner circle, I am announcing that I have decided to pull my name from those running. While serving as your Mayor has been an absolute pleasure it is time I shifted my focus and experience something new. Victoria, I wish you luck and you certainly will always have my full support.

Right. So things worth noting right now.

I'm in the States. I'm the state of Maine, in a town called Storybook, to be precise.
I've been transported here by a magical portal of sorts. Apparently, the magic here is different from what I'm used to.
I shall need to find a job, since I'm going to be here for awhile, and am going to have to provide for myself.
Magic exists here, so there's no need in hiding that I'm a witch.

Right, then. Now that I've gotten those things out of the way, I may as well introduce myself. My name is Hermione Granger. I'm eighteen years of age, and I've just graduated from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy, which where I come from, is a school in the Untied Kingdom where young witches and wizards go to harness their abilities and become successful members of magical society afterward. I'm a Muggle-born, which means that neither of my parents have any magical blood in them whatsoever, so I am also well-versed in somethings that wizards that haven't grown up around Muggles or have never taken a Muggle studies class aren't, such as how to use a telephone, or operate a car.

I was top in my class at Hogwarts. I'm very good all manners of spells, translating ancient ruins, and brewing potions. I'm also very organized, have excellent typing skills, and good with numbers.

I really do love this time of year.

I don't know what it is, but the autumn weather reminds me of ~~my mother~~ the farm I grew up on.

Ruth is going to look adorable in her Halloween costume, and even if she won't remember it I plan on taking plenty of pictures to embarrass her with later. I'm looking forward to taking her out and doing some trick-or-treating.

I should probably also take a moment to announce that I plan on running for Sheriff, and possibly making my temporary position a more permanent one.

You and Neal should come with us and bring Lily. And Henry, if he doesn't have other plans.

Snow

You and I need to have a date night soon, Mrs. Charming. I think Henry's just about old enough to earn some money babysitting, don't you?

And that's the last of the post-school-year work I have to do. So now I'm officially in the summer state of not knowing what to do with myself until I have to make lesson plans for next year. Because there are not that many kids in town to keep busy preparing for all summer.

I haven't felt kicking yet, but I have hit the craving portion of things, because the absolute only things I want to eat or drink is root beer floats and guacamole. That's it. At the same time, sometimes.

How's everyone? I saw a few people have been sent home lately - everyone else holding up okay?

Carlos and I are finally married. I'm now, officially, Cecil Gershwin Palmer-~~TheScientist~~Mendoza. And I have to say, I could not be happier.

The ceremony was lovely, even if there was some confusion over the incorporation of bloodstone circles. Dana, Amy, it was so great having the both of you there.

We went for pie at the diner, rather than having a reception. Then Carlos and I did what all married couples do. We went out to the park to stare into the void and scream in existential terror. And that was beautiful, because in that moment we were terrified together. And then we had sex. Because obviously. I mean can you blame me? Have you seen Carlos? And he's my husband now!

It was wonderful. And it will continue to be wonderful because how could it possibly ever cease to be so.

Anakin and I are parents.

As much as I still miss Naboo and would've preferred to raise Luke and Leia there I'm finding it hard to complain. Back home I wouldn't have had this chance. Neither of us would've. The twins would've been separated and wouldn't have known each other until later on in life. I'm sure most people already know how that story goes. ~~I still wish I didn't~~
