I've been here a whole year as of like two days ago. Which is crazy. Some people have come and gone two or three times in that time. Some people just don't come back.

I'm still wondering what's going to happen at home, but I'm glad I ended up here.

I've been thinking. We've had a lot of new arrivals lately that are still trying to get their bearings as far as what this place is all about. And with next weekend being a holiday, I thought it might not be a bad idea to throw some sort of get together so everyone new has a chance to talk to the more established, get a decent grounding on things.

So. Who's up for helping me set up a barbecue next weekend? Potluck, we can all pitch in something and hopefully the weather will hold out to let us enjoy the park.

Assuming everyone hasn't already spread to the four corners of the world, I'm thinking that the Avengers and Co. should Assemble for a barbecue or something before whatever happens happens with the movie that we're all trying to ignore.

That includes anyone on the sidelines fortunate enough not to be a part of the whole mess.

So the staff at the middle school put together a team for the local co-ed softball league. I joined up but we're actually a little short on players. Any takers? The schedule is pretty flexible. Just play when you can make it. Spectators are always welcome, too.

This post was, originally, going to be titled 'pictures of the dork I'm dating' and then I sort of decided that, maybe, I should keep most of those pictures to myself. Instead I decided that sharing this picture was a better use of my time in order to, you know, convince him that it's a good look.

I'm going to try to pretend I'm smarter than I am and just ignore that movie that's going to happen.

But what's a book that they made a movie of where the movie was not crappy? Because I have to read something and then watch the movie version and then discuss the difference and whenever I try to look either the book is dull looking or the movie looks awful. So what's one that's not awful for either?

It's not cheating to ask for recommendations. I asked.

Or have we all just settled into lives here, accepted the weird-ass shit that happens (which thankfully hasn't happened in a while. May I miss having boobs that was fucking awesome), and just decided that this is life now?

Okay so Halloween's on Saturday. What do teenagers do on Halloween? Is someone going to throw a party? Someone should throw a party and hope nothing terrible happens. And there should be costumes because otherwise it's not a Halloween party BUT you can't wear your usual costume if you're a super hero type because, again, that's not a Halloween party.

You know you don't get to watch a lot of baseball when you're frozen in ice.

The Brooklyn Dodgers finally won a World Series in 1955 and then moved to LA in 1958. Before I went to war in 1941 I got to see part of the Dodgers run for the World Series. They lost that year to the Yankees and boy did that hurt, even thousands of miles away.

So the Dodgers moved to LA and broke my heart. On principle I'd never root for the Yankees because they're the Yankees. But the Mets aren't a half bad consolation prize for a guy who's missed out on a lot of New York baseball.

The Mets made it to the World Series but something tells me the magic isn't going to let up just so I can sneak away and watch a game. Talk about rotten luck. But, if anyone is looking for me in the evenings most of this week, I'll probably be glued to the TV.

Okay I gave it a try for a while, but there should be an opt out button on the school thing. My world isn't even this world so learning about history in a world with a different history makes no sense. I mean, I don't even remember things people tell me before ten in the morning unless there's a drill or someone might die, so anything before lunch doesn't make sense to me anyway.

Getting used to school again has been incredibly difficult. I'm looking forward to all of my afterschool activities to start up again I'm not going into what those are. Maybe I'll take up a sport this year.

How do you know if someone hates you enough to just never see you? If someone was there first and hates you should you move out so they don't have to see you?

I'd like to thank everyone for coming to the wedding. I know it was all spur of the moment but it was actual a lot less spur of the moment than you'd expect from us. Admit it. You all were pretty impressed by how well it turned out.

This is going to be weird so please bare with me. I'm a genetically modified person. My dad worked for Hydra back in the day and used his research on me. Now, I've learned to deal with my powers, use them to my advantage and all that but something has come up. I'm pregnant. I've got an OB and she's great but I'm worried about the ramifications of my powers on the baby. Would you be willing to monitor me and the baby? Just to keep an eye on things? I know this is a weird request but I know you've got experience with enhanced people and you seem very nice.
