WHO: Sarah Zellaby and OPEN WHAT: Shopping for School Stuff WHEN: Sunday evening WHERE: Walmart WARNINGS: TBD, probably not STATUS: Open/Ongoing
Sarah couldn't believe she'd found a job that easily, especially since she didn't have a teaching degree. She was going to have to take some classes, they said, but she could do that while she started teaching her math classes. Math classes! She wasn't afraid of the subject matter, not at all. There was very little - if any - math she couldn't do, including the hardest post-graduate level. She could handle algebra and geometry and pre-calc without even thinking about it. She was worried, though, about the teaching part. It would require her to be around tons of kids every day, and if something ever happened to her telepathy-charm...well, she could end up convincing all of them - accidentally - that Math was their very favorite subject and was so cool and amazing and they wanted to study it all the time. Yeah, it could be worse, but she didn't really want to influence a bunch of students. Like her mom had always told her, doing that, influencing peoples' minds - it was wrong. They deserved to believe what they believed without a Johrlac getting in the way and messing everything up.
She'd probably have to contact Constantine and get a second telepathy charm as a back-up, just in case.
Tonight she was at Walmart, picking up the pencils, erasers, notepads, calculators, etc. that she would need to start her new job. She loved buying all of this stuff because she was totally a nerd but this came with just a little more anxiety than normal.
Thus she wasn't really paying attention when she brought her cart around the corner, almost broadsiding someone who was coming through the intersection. She yelped, and looked around her to make sure there wasn't anyone else.
