Sarah was dreading this outing even before she closed her door behind her and headed out to the street. She'd spent most of her time since she'd been here locked up in her apartment, which honestly was the way she spent most of her time at home, too. But if she wanted to figure out how to get home, she needed to get out and meet people. Which...was definitely not her strong point.
Why? Well, for once thing she'd been raised to believe that invading people's minds was incredibly rude. She didn't want to do it, but when she was out and around tons of people it took an incredible amount of effort to control her mind's impulses. Her conscience didn't want to read minds. Her brain wanted little else.
Then there was the fact that she couldn't read people's facial expressions, or even recognize faces, for that matter. Jorhlac didn't have to, since they identified people by their minds and not by such silly physical distinctions. She could tell the difference between hair color and such, of course, but if she was faced with two blonde haired female humans...well, she honestly wouldn't have been able to tell them apart.
But she was hungry, and for this moment anyway, she was determined. She was out of tomato juice and tomato sauce and that just wasn't okay. It was, honestly, about the only thing that would get her out of her apartment and by now almost all the way to Walmart. Which lit up in her mind like a freaking beacon.
But of course it would, wouldn't it? It was Thanksgiving week and probably everyone in the world was in there doing their holiday shopping. Great timing, Sarah. Wishing she had an anti-telepathy charm but not knowing any witches here who could help her out with that, she stepped inside, her headache starting almost instantly. She was going to have a full construction crew pounding around in her brain by the time she got out of here, so she needed to make it fast.
