At the beginning of the semester, Sarah had purchased more pencils than she thought she would ever need for her class. She had nearly a hundred of them available for students to borrow, which she thought was way more than she'd need, since surely they'd all bring pencils to math class, right?
Well, it was less than two months in and almost all of those pencils were gone. Not borrowed, gone. Apparently most students had no idea what the word 'borrow' meant, because hardly anyone had ended up giving them back to her.
It was frustrating, but at least pencils weren't that expensive, and she could run out and get two hundred more pretty easily.
After throwing the multitude of pencils into her cart, she was just browsing a little when she came across a girl in the aisle. It was a narrower aisle, and she couldn't get her cart through without bumping the girl, so she started to pack it up and ran over her foot, letting out a cry of pain as she did.
