Well, it seems like this power issue will be taking longer to resolve than I'm used to back in New York. I phoned the power company and they have no ETA for when the power will be back. They didn't say so, but I got the feeling they had no idea what the problem was.

In any case, The Loft will still be opened tomorrow (Wednesday) for game night, but by candle light. We have a fireplace that I thought would only be used as decoration, but it appears I've been proven wrong. If you want to play board games by candlelight with some non-perishable snacks offered for free, please join us. Unfortunately We won't be able to serve our full menu, but my intrepid employees have put some of the drinks we have outside in the back in the the snow to keep them cold.

I don't know what has gotten into people lately, but I am enjoying it.

For instance, I was at the store today to pick up dinner, and there was this mom and her teenage son just bitching at each other. At one point, the mom looked at the guy and goes "Aren't you just a little bastard." I was about to step in and say something when the son looked her dead in the eye and goes 'And whose fault is that?"

I just turned and left at that point.

I wasn't exactly thrilled about returning to the heat of Indiana, but I'm rather glad I didn't miss the breakup conversation in the dressing room at work.

I legit saw a whale last night from the deck. There weren't many people around me and it was quiet and I know I saw it come just enough out of the water to blow the water out its blowhole and then go back under.

It was kind of amazing. Wish I'd thought to get a video of it.

So, hey, I've got a question.

I'm eighteen now, so I'm not required to go to school, but I also haven't been in school in any real sense since 4th grade so I'm a bit behind on stuff?

I was wondering if this place had any sort of adult education or tutors or something. I mean, I don't plan on being any big academic but I'd like to at least be able to get my GED so I can find a decent job here.
