The street has been closed off for the music festival. People have brought their blankets and claimed prime places by the stage. It's a lovely fall day, the weather's cool but not cold, and there's a lot of sunshine to make things that much more pleasant. Beth and her helpers have decorated the stage and the area around it with pumpkins and scarecrows and and autumn harvest theme. Food trucks line the street selling every conceivable cuisine.

If you haven't yet signed up to perform, you still can. The music will start at noon and will go until Midnight, come find a place and enjoy a beautiful day of music by the river!

I think I might see if Cadence has any interest in singing for the crowd when we have the music festival next month. She's been belting out "Let It Go" for weeks. And while we might all be sick of it, you haven't heard Cady's rendition...It's definitely recognisable, but totally her own creation too.

iscrewgirls

Finch's question about kid friendly activities got me thinking.

Maybe I should extend the movie in the park night to include a hayride for all the little ones. Not a haunted one, just a regular one. I've never been on one before but I hear that's a nice fall thing to do. There would be popcorn to eat on the ride and hot chocolate to drink after.

Where has my baby gone? She will be 2 1/2 in two days. That's halfway to five years old, and five is halfway to ten, which is halfway to twenty which is five years from 25. I'm so not ready for that.

Looks like I missed the deadline to take classes this fall. That's okay, I don't know if I really wanted to anyway.

I kind of think I'd rather just find a job of some sort. I never was very good at school. A job in music would be ideal, but after the stuff I've done back home I don't think there's anything that would disgust me or gross me out. I can do anything, as long as I get to stay here.

My little girl isn't a baby anymore. She's talking in complete sentences, and telling me what she wants and she doesn't fall down all the time when she walks anymore. She's growing like a weed, and as much as I want to see her grow and mature and blossom I miss my sweet little baby too. I feel like I'm going to miss something important if I blink at the wrong moment.

The dead rose my junior year. So yeah, I never got to go to Prom. I'd always been looking forward to it, spent a bunch of time in my sophomore year thinking about what sort of dress I was going to wear. Never happened, but those were good times, when I could think about things like dresses rather than trying to survive.
