Avery wished he could video every moment with Cadence, lately. She was growing by leaps and bounds, and becoming quite the little girl. She wasn't a baby anymore, she was walking and talking and her personality was really starting to take shape. And she was beautiful, even when she had a temper tantrum, even when she was a brat (though that was when he couldn't help but see shades of her mother in her, which didn't really thrill him).
It was his day off, and he couldn't stand being cooped up in the house. Despite the town's weirdness, despite the demon on the loose, he couldn't sit around and refuse to live his life. He'd taken Cadence to the park, and now they were having lunch at Hinkles.
He had the camera on his phone going, capturing her as she danced in that awkward yet adorable way only a small child could get away with, especially in public. She seemed to have a natural rhythm, she should, she came by it naturally with both her biological parents being musicians, but it would be a few years yet before she grew into whatever ability she might have. Avery would help her cultivate it, if she had an interest in doing so. For now, he was content to let her enjoy being carefree and innocent, and freaking adorable about it.
Hopefully Cadence wasn't annoying anyone. They were at the back of the dining area, away from most of the foot traffic. He knew a few people were watching her antics, and amused by her, so he was allowing her to continue.
