So this time I decided to look up information on the holiday I knew nothing about before I came here to comment and/or ask questions.

Thanksgiving.

Ok, so I get the sentiment behind the title, which seems very nice and a good thing to celebrate. HOWEVER...

Why do we celebrate this? According to my research it isn't proven that this event actually happened, and even if it did it would have been wildly different than what is portrayed. These "pilgrims" (an odd name for people who were escaping religious prosecution but I'll get to that) were starving and freezing because they were in an environment they were entirely unprepared for so it was more likely that they approached the indigenous people with buckled hats in hand.

Celebrating Halloween with a five year old is a very different experience than I'm used to having.

It's nice that there are some child friendly activities in town though and not just orgies and fight club.
