Summer Plans

I just want to remind people (especially new arrivals) as they start thinking about summer plans: there is a huge lake about an hour's travel east of Madison. I mean huge, the size of one of the Great Lakes. Practically an inland sea, except that it's fresh water. I discovered it last September.

It also has a deep and wide white sand beach. No development yet, so if you're going to stay overnight or longer, you'll have to camp. But it's a lovely place to get away from the city.

It would seem that Thanksgiving, along with any other holiday, will have to be spent with more than one person. Judith has those that she loves and cares about. Those she wants to spend time with on the holidays and I'm fine with that.

I also need to see what else is needed in this house considering how much two of the men eat.

Are there any foods that you are allergic to? I plan to binge a little, especially for Judith's sake, for the holidays. Even if you don't celebrate with us I want to make sure you're fed properly.

For anyone who is interested, the local fire stations are having 'Fire Truck or Treat' at all the stations this Saturday, from noon until 7pm. We'll also be giving tours of the stations, and handing out the annual smoke detectors and batteries for the smoke detectors.

And, as a reminder, after the incident that happened two years ago, it will be group tours only. No more private tours. The captain doesn't want to have to replace the bathrooms again.

I can't believe the summer's over so fast.

Regular school was so terrible. Everyone expects me to be able to read and it gets so tedious to explain to them that I'm doing the best I can, it's just that my brain isn't wired that.

You Roman demi-gods are so lucky with your Latin reading and writing.

At least they got me into some sort of class for dyslexic kids now. Hopefully it will help.
