I'm sure all of you have noticed the influx of animals onto the town streets. It seems they were released from the animal shelter by persons unknown. Unfortunately, it also seems that the town sheriff and her deputy are averse to actually doing their jobs, as they have yet to round up the animals still free. Anyone who spots a stray animal or has information regarding the culprit, feel free to call the sheriff department anytime.

Those of you who have picked up animals off the street, congratulations on the new members of your family. The state of Maine requires that all dogs be licensed, and the town code additionally requires cats to be licensed pets as well.

You can find the requisite forms on storybrooke.gov, including information about rabies shots, other vaccinations, population control, and the spaying/neutering services offered through the town animal shelter. There is a fee - $5 to $12, depending on the animal.

Please keep in mind that town code also requires animals to be collared and leashed in public. Thank you.

So I really don't know how normal people do things, so I'm hoping you can help me out, or at least point me to someone who can.

A few of us were thinking about the possibility of offering self-defense or just plain fitness classes, but we don't actually know how these processes work. What would that entail? Is there a space? Do we get permits? What do we do?
