So, my child has been replaced by a walking air raid siren. For anyone with especially sensitive hearing around this *address*, I'm sorry, it was nothing serious.

Cassie's just upset to no longer be sleeping on a boat or going to the pool as often as we did. Not to mention, momma needs to go back to work and she's not too happy about that either.

Told her if she didn't settle down, she won't be going to the birthday celebrations this month. Not proud of it, but hell, it worked and saved my ear drums and her vocal cords.

In the weeks I've been here, it's never failed to amaze me what people are capable of when they put their talents towards good.

Like central heating in buildings. No more having to constantly tend to fires or wear bundles indoors to stay warm in such cold. The young people in the shelter don't have to keep loitering in shops to stay warm, so it's a relief to know they have a warm place where they can rest and feel safe.

To the people responsible for the creation of central heating, I don't know if they're still alive or not, but I wish them a peaceful life if that's the case, and a restful Afterlife if they are no longer with us.
